He went very well for his first 40 mins against men.
Some strong carries and can continues balk at speed each time it came his way.
Speed was key for me, something we desperately need.

Especially impressed that every time he ran he created something be in a half break or a quick play the ball, has great speed off the mark which is more important then over a distance imo. Plus strength and soft hands.
In one game our outside back depth went from problematic to having May and Maksini both looking like nrl centres in 2026

If you tap on the $19.95 icon it unlocks a dropdown which is $6.95 for 48 hours, I only wanted to see Makasini and May play so suited meI tried to watch this live and signed up to Bar TV as only place I could find Live but they want 19.95 a moth for reserve grade. That nearly the price of Kayo etc... They lower the price they would get more people..
Yeah that’s what I thought too, but Maks has been playing footy the whole year so makes sense.Makasini looked closer to NRL than May IMO.
May didn’t do anything wrong but probably needs some time getting back up to speed with NRL.
2026 we’re back , hope Richo is standing under some forward trees 💥Yeah that’s what I thought too, but Maks has been playing footy the whole year so makes sense.
It’s gonna take May a few games to get up to scratch
Very good comeback win to keep our top 5 hopes alive! What a stirring performance! Lobster sets up the penultimate try and scores the winner with two great catches. Makasini and Tui'tupou struck up a good combo in the second half, scoring once and going very close on two other occasions. Tui"tupou looked filthy with Mapalangi for giving him no decent ball in the first half but it improved slightly in the second.
Aho played his best game for the season. He brought a lot of enthusiasm off the bench, channelling Taateo from previous weeks.
Hunt was mostly good aside from a lazy missed tackle at the death.
Naden was safe at the back and far away our biggest attacking threat in the first half.
Jack had a game he'd rather forgot aside from a line break which led to our second try. He threw a shocker to Makasini, dropped the ball while trying to force an unecessary pass at the end and was caught out in defence. Hopefully he learns from it.
my gut says mpaps in a centre too , but we are so stacked in that position now coming through in cup . Just seems like the player you just have to find a spot for. has NRL quality in him for sureVery good comeback win to keep our top 5 hopes alive!
Thought we dominated most of the game, just Raiders capitalised early through some poor middle defence from us near the line.
Reuben Porter is not a starting middle, Jayden Tanner is Ron Massey Cup quality & Joe Lovodua's defence lets him down at times.
Whilst some have been critical of Royce, thought helped us get on the front foot along with Vaka Aho & Bailey Hodges. As you said Ted, it's that type of lazy miss which lets him down at times. I also feel that left knee inhibits him & may be a reason why his fitness has been an issue (can't get in the training miles). I wonder whether it needs a clean out.
Other observations ...
Naden just looks class at this level and I also like him at fullback, as his cover defence is good, can chime into the backline, genuinely safe under the high ball, can marshall the troops with his voice & has that bit of x-factor.
Tui'tupou our best once again. He's just a beast and is certainly in career best form from what he showed at the Rabbitohs in 23-24. I think he's drafting himself a contract for next season with his performances these past 2 months.
Taylan May just a good solid 1st hitout. Wasn't helped by our 1st half attack being right side dominant but had a few good runs, a massive tackle, quick play the balls. In racing terms, will be better for the run.
Big Mak in the 2nd half looked very impressive, had much better ball, strong with his carries, quick ptbs as well and got himself a try assist to Tui.
Rahme was strong once again, played 60 mins straight in the middle and showed some decent ball playing. Just ultra consistent. I think with Izaak, he must be under the microscope for a contract next season too.
KMpaz always shows a touch a class at 5/8 which just teases us about his NRL potential. Had a bit more depth in the 2nd half and threw a beautiful ball that put Luke Jack through a gap who found Mak onto Tui'tupou for a try. I'd love to see him at centre at some point. But his ability to play anywhere in the backline except halfback could stand him in good stead moving forward.
Faataape was ok, Lobb was ok and then changed the game with two try-creating aerial wins - we won thanks to the Lobbster, El Zakhem was ok - just this past 4-6 weeks showing this is probably his level, Luke Jack helped set up a try and is a trier but always has a few misses & handling errors in his game which are costly, & Falls was Falls with a better 2nd half and very good kicking game just a bit slow in his attack at times.
Bailey Hodges ... last but not least, his runs on and off the ball & contact in defence helped us significantly in the last 20-25 mins as lock. IMO it is criminal he has been overlooked for a lot of this season with the class & ceiling he possesses. Has just got stuck behind Charlie Murray & Joe Lovodua in Payne's mind it seems but offers a lot more than Tanner & Johannssen who have been regulars. Anyway today's performance will give Aaron Payne a lot to think about. I'd have Hodges ahead of Lovodua as a dummyhalf too. Is the type of player if given an NRL pre-season I reckon would flourish and I know others feel that way too.
Sorry I got on a roll, just happy we won lol
Very strong powerful centre. Will be a top ager next season in SG Ball for the Magpies. Good prospect.Just a quick one..
Anybody know anything about a kid named, Glassie Glassie!
Playing Aust School boys rugby at centre.
Did Royce play today ?
so good to see some standouts and players pushing for first grade in our cup team finally! Wahs will be a huge testI actually feel like Hunts last 2 games in Cup have been quite good. He had a good start to the year but dropped off a cliff quickly in NRL when we demanded more from him (asking him to start). I was keen on it at the time. But it is clear that if he returns to NRL it is clearly a minimal minutes, impact style prop similar to how he played at Cronulla. Nothing wrong with that and I can see him earning a recall before the year is out.
Other players...Rahme pretty solid as always. Aho impressed me alot today. Good to see him back in NSW Cup. Wonder if he might get a bit more game time back end of the year to see if he is worthwhile giving a 2nd tier contract to in 2026.
In the backs, Tui'tupou just keeps delivering. On his form, hard to keep him away from a contract...even if a development one.
Nado was quality at fullback and Lobb came up clutch at the end.
Taylan May got very little opportunity with the ball, but even in what was seen, I liked the look of him..that hit in defence showed good intent too.
Makasini got a lot more ball which was great to see. Did not look out of place at this level at all. Hopefully more opportunities coming.
Mapapalangi is another than continues to impress me. Very consistent since joining our club.
Another W is always good! Great test up against the top of the table Wahs team next weekend.
