OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Galvin wanted out well before we even signed Luai and Galvin never played 13 in any grade.
That’s not true . Galvin wanted out in September of the year we signed Latu , which was around August .
It was 💯 because we signed Latu . We had made promises to him about his pathway , so fair enough .
Then it really kicked off when we signed Luai . Everything was fine , or getting better , then Latu comes back from injury and trains all pre season , often out shining Galvin , and luai starts to wonder openly why Galvin is in front of Latu. Their relationship becomes strained , and Galvin says F this shit , I’m out .
IMO whoever promised Galvin the keys to the castle in the halves has lost his mind . And the constant signing of halves doesn’t exactly show faith in the idea either .
So whilst Galvin is a traitorous turd , and deliberately tried to derail the tigers season , I have zero doubt in that , I blame Ronald McDonnell and The sheenius for the promises made early to him . I think we dodged a bullet IMO .

Galvin thought that he was getting bullied at the Tigers, the poor guy has gone from the oven to the frying pan at Belmore, they're fans are alot more rabid than us. In truth, he will improve the more he plays with them, how good who really knows. His biggest problem is accepting that he's not a half if it doesn't workout, I can't see him as a halfback but Ciraldo knows much more than me and knows what he's doing. But if it doesn't work out and Ciraldo needs to have a chat to him in 2 - 3 years about moving into the forwards I think Galvin might leave for another crack elsewhere. Either that or the Dogs just get rid of him like they've been doing to the other players who havnt worked out.
AD is 28 and still thinks he’s a half first at nrl standard . His career is almost over ..

100% spot on, just think it was a bit of a hail Mary play to keep him at the club, I get why Richo would try it, though he was asking to be released the year prior so there was next to no chance of it working. I guess it would be kind of like a due diligence thing by the ceo. If he doesn't make an offer and never gets rejected and Galvin becomes the goat. Everyone will blame Richo for not trying.
I still reckon it was to draw him out into the open by Richo . Sponsors and people with power around the club had told of this situation with the dogs happening in January , with the rumour of a contract there .
I thought it was the eels , because that’s thier modus operende , they’re always breaking the rules behind closed doors , but I was wrong . But guys with thier ears to the ground in the inner west were on top of this since January . So if we know 💯 that this had been relayed to Richo , which we 💯 do because Rob Bechara said he was one of the people who told the club in January , then only a fool would dismiss it . And Richo doesn’t seem a fool to me . I think he made a calculated risk to offer overs , get rejected which he knew it would , and have the press release out an hour later . Like everyone said , the sheer speed at which it all happened seems suss to me. Like it was pre planned .

What I said was true.

I said he wanted out before we signed Luai. You are talking about Latu. Latu was with us a year before Luai.

No It wasnt , you don’t offer massive contracts as a bluff or to draw the bad guys out in the open . This is not an RPG game or a Hollywood movie

Yeh they knew about it , hence the overs because they were desperate to keep him.

If it was to draw them out and not look like the bad guys , then he wouldn’t have put out that stupid press release … because it frankly was childish and way unprofessional from a CEO of all people with the comment we offered the best ever contract to a junior

U have to wonder why the dogs are forcing him into the side. No one would have blinked if he was playing NSW cup for a couple of weeks to "learn their systems" we played him in firsts out of desperation and a lack of success. I would argue the dogs leadership and coaching staff are more incompetent than us by forcing him into a team that was dominating the comp. They may actually break him mentally and cause some long term damage. Or could they be contractually obligated to play him in firsts, in the halves?
Who cares. Hope he’s playing super league for Catalans in two years time.

To be honest, are we just taking Richo's word that we offered big dollars? Galvin's team didn't even look at the offer. Maybe the offer was going to be less but Richo inflated it for the presser. Was there another source other than Richo's word on what we offered?
