I think there’s a lot of misinformation in the media. We hear that the senior players are signing contracts at Tigers because they want to play under the coaching of their boyhood idol, while the junior players are leaving because they don’t.
This is in contrast to previous allegations of juniors being treated like seniors, while seniors are treated like juniors.
There’s some journalists working overtime to rock the Tigers boat.
At another level, they publish stuff about us because there is a public hunger and demand out there for Wests Tigers material.

A cross we have to bear for being interesting.

Sounds like he could be having second thoughts on his claim that it wouldn’t be as hard as turning the Bunnies around.
Apart from the references to external matters and finance, most of his argument supporting the status quo and the grand plan is based around “ trust me”

And then he provides examples of correct decisions from his Glory Days.

He says we have to follow a plan, but he should have been asked how his other plans went that were not successful.

For example, 5 post gf years at Souths flopped, firehawks, his old player manager business, time in the nrl admin- all flops.

So hes basically cherry picking his successes from years ago to justify the current plan.

He doubles down on his Benji love, talks about their close friendship and how wonderful Benji is. I think that’s a bit of a conflict of interest in a professional setting.

These types of close and personal friendships at such a high level create bias and emotions can interfere with good judgments and best decisions.

He should stay in his lane.

What Shane is not registering is the new information. Benji is a poor coach and most of our players are underperforming.

He let slip we are looking for another strike back.

This three year plan, it reminds me of Tim, Madge, Lee…the date keeps being pushed back.

Andrew Moore and Luke Lewis didn’t really confront him and he was allowed to run the discussion. That’s to be expected, they are entertainers.

Unfortunately, for the reasons above, I think he’s got a bit lost in himself and his way.

He’s here to run a club not be liked by the coach.

Section 69 of the WT Mates Act?

1/2 way thru a 3 year plan still gives you time to purchase for a pair of party shows dorothy

Richo public reason for our pending improvement can be summed up as “trust me”

That’s his core message and virtually nothing else.

If that convinces people he’s on the right track, that’s a matter for them.

But one of his weaknesses, I think, I’m concerned he’s too close to Benji, he’s even given him the job next year before we’ve finished this season.

It’s better management to wait for this years outcomes.

Mate it’s up to Richo & Benji to change the culture and recruitment at the club, we don’t need to trust them, but it’s literally on them regardless of if you trust them or not.

The positive- They’re a damn lot better than the decision makers before them. They are respected footy people.

Richo does an interview, puts his position out there, I listen to it and sum it up as I see it.

If I think he’s making mistakes then its not unreasonable to point that out.

After 2 years of very little meaningful progress, he spent a lot of time promoting himself in that interview. I found it to be uncomfortable.

We will be the judge of whether he’s doing a good job and not Richo.

It may be that the less we hear from him the better.

His most important job is to help us win football matches.

If that happens, a lot of things fall into place.

I’ve given Richo a dream run compared to Lee and Co. Lee used to talk himself up too, we all remember his end of season “ trust me” arguments.

Something I didn’t like Lee for was all that suing of the club on behalf of players afterwards. That was perhaps a conflict too. Ethically troubling.

Richo is fair game. No one should be safe until we are competitive, leading the comp and winning grand finals.

lets hope his health holds out for the wins. His main objective as he was self-promoting himself , as you suggest , was step 1 ,Strengthen the squad (18 -30} tick .Your correct /the less we hear from him the better. Easiest way to flip out a human is ignore it ,bathe it in silence. LOL .Fan base will never be happy

Of course you’re entitled to voice your opinion and I’m entitled to disagree with you. I see the club improving a lot under Richo’s watch on and off the field. He mentioned it’s about building, you go from poor to average to great and at the moment, he’s got us at average. Wins are improving year on year. Our side is young and will naturally get better, we actually have marquee players now (and just won without them).

So you can disagree with Richo, but there’s facts that support his arguments.

Well, we know less about what he’s done, than what he’s attributed to himself.

He even snuck JL in there, that was a tad artistic.

He didn’t mention the record thrashing in Melbourne. What does he think about this? No one asked him.

Benjis failure as a coach, no one pressed him.

And kissing Benjis behind before the end of the season was rubbish!

My views!

Have your views.

I don’t think you’ll find it was a record thrashing, we copped those much more routinely before Richo.

Well no one wants his health to fail, or anybody else’s for that matter.

He’s no more important than you or I or anyone else here on the forum today.

He ignores things that don’t assist him, yes, understandable.

explain , you mung bean , why is Benji a failure ,because were not yet in the top 4 . Do you not see improvement this year compared to the last 8 or so . Yes Benji may be a drongo , the boys seem to respect him ,and that equals long term growth. Richo just spouts a united front so the troops move forward . and that can all flip on a dime

Well it wasn’t progress by any stretch.

Richo is being paid handsomely for his services. Then he’s gone.

I don’t wish ill upon him, but it benefits us to hold him accountable.
