Everyone should tune in and count the number of times he needlessly heaps praise on himself.

Ask yourself if he is promoting the club or himself?

Can the two be separated these days?

Should they be?

You are on the money - good leaders use we, and us not I.

Benji's presser yesterday, after the win, credited the team but he also said that what we disshed up was below par in the second half. The comments to Latu and Twal after the game were a clear indication that he has the playing group on side.

To me that is the first real demonstration that he has has mastered that side of the coaching gig. There is evidence that we can perform - we are still too patchy though. I think much of that has to do with inexperience in the roster.

Richo would be much better if he followed Benji's lead and credited Benji and the playing group and used us and we a lot more and didn't worry about where we have come from as everyone know that. He needs to focus on where WE are going and how WE are going to get there.
Nup. The last palookas had no accountability. It’s on Richo & Benji and he owns that (why do we want him to pretend otherwise?). Trust the man or keep sooking (to the naysayers), two choices. His bedside manner will rub people the wrong way, people enjoy spin for some reason.

Why would he go on the radio to promote the club in the current predicament?

He’s on there to ask members to stick by the club as he pulls it out of the deep manure he found it in.

Interesting to hear that we were $5 million in debt not that long ago and now we have $1 million in the bank and no debt. Transparency from Richo. Surely people can see why we can’t knock back 600 grand per game to play our home games in run down stadiums.

I have no idea why we care whether the club turns a profit or not. HBG made 9 million in profit last fy. The club won't dig itself off the bottom of the ladder without some capital investment. It's like trying to start a fire without oxygen. Doesn't work. Fans care about winning. He's just reaching for something to hang his hat on as a success. He isn't here to turn a profit he is here to make the club successful.

Dumbest post of the year

I'm going out on a limb here but perhaps HBG have told WT that they need to prove that they are financially viable before investing resources. $1M in profit may be able to pay a GM of football, or establish a better pathways program etc.

We are running on an oily rag at the moment.

It's a whole package and he is doing an excellent job IMO.

The hardest part would have been the last 18 months with all the changes needed beside the Players. He even said that there was only about 22 or 24 quality first graders at the club and it takes time to turn over a roster.
This offseason will be massive for us as we still have about 6-8 players that need replacing. He will front load player contracts 25/26 and fix our cap.

Trust the process as its hard turning a club with 3 spoons in a row around but we are heading into the good part of Richo timeframe.

All the more reason they need to sell if so. If they're starving the club of financial resources then they aren't going to be competitive with clubs run by guys who use theirs as hobbies. Ever.

If I wanted the Tigers to be profitable I would hire Deloitte. Shane Richardson has the job because he has a track record of rebuilding clubs into competitive football teams. So spare me if I couldn't give two shits if he's managed to make the wooden spooners deliver modest ROI to the board. I couldn't care less.

Guess we know why you’re still in diapers.

Lol Deloitte wouldn’t make the club profitable.
It would cost over $1m just to bring them in for a consultation.

Perhaps, but given we support this team we are stuck with the management that comes with it.

Bahaha listen to you lot. Acting like the financial health of the club is a KPI that impresses you. Report back how impressed you are with his "1m in the green" next time we have 3 tries put on us by the reigning group 36 player of the year.
