Yeah … Adel loves Benji … I like that show though … he seems to still have a bit of inside knowledge… must still talk to a couple of people at the club…

We get pushed back, sure. But the teams that use this tactic do it even when they get pushed back after contact.

There’s always forward momentum when there’s a forward step towards the markers on every play the ball.

We needed a strong runner with size today and we did not have that option in the backs or forwards. It is a pity we could not blood Sol Saukuru type player today someone who is naturally aggressive to run off Latu.

Something I notice, not just in this game but across the board. Is that often the team that gets attacking momentum does so by rolling through the ruck. The players constantly stand up and steal one to two metres as they stand up to play the ball and it has the markers retreating. It is rarely officiated on and it means that the defensive team either has offside markers, or only one onside. It frustrates me to watch but I also don’t understand at this point why the Tigers don’t try the same method?

Warriors are very well coached, you can see they always do the little things really well. They have won so many close games this year for a reason.
We don’t do the little things well, we don’t get to marker, don’t switch on for short side, clock off and don’t cover enough in defence, line speed is low, contact is poor.
These are majority coaching things, having more grunt of tough / physical forwards would help.

Good summary. Those things you mention are long time irritants.

One thing for Sutton to explain
How come Warriors got many more repeat sets for ruck slowing the play the ball
Yet Warriors average play the ball speed was typical 3.7 secs
Tigers slowest ave play the ball speed this year over 4 secs but only one repeat set
Sutton you must view the home team thru a different lens .
Oh I forgot Refs don't have to explain anything !

It starts with Api. He struggles with left to right passes from dummy half. I have noticed this in many games this year.

Ah the coach, a former Tigers assistant coach ( with a short stint in charge) who was never really thought of as a possible long term contender. Obviously those in charge couldn’t see the wood from the trees. Another one that got away.

What !!! You’re kidding, our 5 up and high kick doesn’t work. Do you ever see kicks to the grass, almost never, so predictable, very little right side attack. Only when we have nothing to lose do we start moving the ball. And even then it’s mainly ad lib.
