The Doueihi move

Coming into the Season,
I thought Turuva was over rated here,
Skelton had 8 NRL Game behind him (Was also over-rated here)
As was Hunt (He wasn't going to turn into something he's never been at 30 odd in a Struggling team)
I thought Bird could do a job as a Utility - Bey he's not been played as that, We have him on the bench - And a Hooker (Stupidity)
Luai and May have proven they can do a job.

I feel, It's becoming a little more widely understood just how big a shitty ship the WT's has been for a long time.
And Big Shitty Ships take a long time to turn around - No matter how good the Skipper is.

I'll say it again, It's in the walls of the Joint.
We've never worked for it, When never earned it...
We don't even know what it is.
That's why all the guys that come here from places that do know what it is, Leave shaking their head (Usually before their time is up)

Our entire existence has been built off giving the ball to someone and waiting for the magic to just happen - Outside those times, We've been skipping around in circles waiting for someone with that Magic to (magically) re-appear.

We have some of the best talents to come through in a long time, I can't with hand on heart confidently say they're not wasting there time here. I wish I could.

What's another year of hoping hey old mate?
Yeah i feel this way often...another week another year...i always try to.stay positive but seeing a standing ovation in the main stand as they went off.for.half time left me a bit baffled.
Hard.not.to see us as just a stepping stone now for our best juniors when it appears to be better just about anywhere else

Who's fault is that? We have a large body player with a propensity to gain weight and do not strictly monitor that. it's the fault of training and conditioning team. We are not a professional club. What other club would allow this?
It looks that way but he probably copped warnings and when they had a gut full of his attitude dropped him to reserve grade and left him there till he reaches the required weight.

Plenty of time to think if he wants to play 1st grade again, he looks to be at a crossroads.

Toa is the same every season. Has a great performance and then goes missing for the next six. His lack of urgency to play ball drives me insane. So much ability but mentally have no idea what goes on with him. He looks like he hates footy.
To’a is playing injured and now seems to be asked to play fullback in attack for some reason.

He made some bad reads but Benji is not helping him.

AD did OK. I don't know how Benji can say it's our worst performance of the year and still call some players exceptional.

I still can't imagine AD in a forwards battle against a really dominant pack. Im not sure if he's mad enough or tough enough for that.

Thought AD went better as the game went on. His second stint was better than his first. He seemed to link the left side better playing inside with Jerome who combined well with Taylan. The right side looked clunky. Latu still learning and Starford looks injured to me.
Anyway - it wasn’t a total disaster. I think AD was a bit gassed with the defence in the first half but suspect he will get used to that. Worth persevering with in my opinion.

I'm happy with him there. If anything, it gives him more flexibility an opportunity to involve himself in the general play without having the make the crux moves.

May and T'oa are our best centres obviously, Adam is the best to cover them if they go down.

So happy seeing him having the season he is

1st game and when it mattered the most he stepped up. His ball touches in the last 5mins picked up dramatically and was in position for the field goal.

In 60mins in his 1st game at lock he had 12 runs, 70mtrs+, 30+ tackles, offload that lead to a line break, kicked the winning field goal, kicked a few bombs, and kicked some goals.

People are way too critical - I’ve not been his biggest fan but his workload was fine for his 1st game at lock and for someone who hasn’t had an offseason as a forward.

Seyfarth, May, Fainus, Douehi, Twal, Sukkar.. we have quite a "tall" forward pack.

But it's not big. Other than Pole and Sione Fainu, no one really makes good PCM on average. They're not big, but they're not small or mobile enough either. Most of them run very upright into the contact so when Turuva makes a ducking run, he draws a head high quite often.

I'm quite confused as to how we will make it work. One thing I can confidently say though is that this has been Douehi's most consistent year and probably ours in a long time as well. We are not losing the ruck that often.

Based on performance we have better centres May, Toa and Makasini on potential alone. Better fullbacks Bula, Turuva. Halves Luai, Fainu.

Tigers need to sign a 13 and it won’t be Douihei. Horse has bolted. AD is a serviceable starter who can cover slot if positions well. I’d sign him but he will have better options. Titans, Cowboys, Dragons he would likely start at.
Douihei can play a role we have T May for strike now

Does an injured arm stop him running? NO.
Just not fast enough or slow to anticipate gaps or hit top speed before getting the ball? Meh
