Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

One thing is for sure, Richo will not be held to ransom by Moses or Doeuihi.

Richo will have a value for AD based on years of evidence, seeing his fit within the culture and what we need moving forward.

Moses will know AD has been one of our better players this past 3 weeks & we need a ball-playing lock with not much else out there and he's a goal kicker which we lack.

Personally I'd want to see another 4 weeks of AD in the lock role before submitting another offer to him. I've seen him drop his head & reduce his effort too many times over the past 4 seasons to make him a 'must extend'.

I agree Richo has his price for a player …and that’s it …he is prepared to play some hard ball which is a change from the previous 8 years ..

On the other hand Doueihi could argue he has more positive attacking influence on a game when played in the halves than our other 2 who are earning much more than what he is being offered.

Ok… he doesn’t seem to have a long list of suitors despite the media pumping up his tyres … he has been on the market all season …I doubt either of the other 2 would struggle to get another deal elsewhere

Anyway so far it’s been yet another weekend of back rowers, centres, fullbacks and lightning fast wingers all coming up with big plays and creating line breaks and tries for their team.
Plenty of our supporter base on this forum seem to think with the inclusion of Taylan May and KPP we become competent as a team in these positions.
I am yet to see it on a regular basis, we appear to have the least dangerous team in these important attacking positions and desperately need the injection of an outside back and a back rower who are fast and dangerous ball runners and preferably strong defenders to go with it.
If these types of players are not available for 2026, we should be moving fast to sign some quality for 2027.
Taylan May (probably because he’s a bad guy) carries himself that way on the field. Like I get the feeling people would be hesitant to tackle him hard because they don’t want him to beat the shit out of them - and I love it!

I was calling for Taylan May to be signed by us 12 months ago, so it’s no surprise he’s already our best outside back,
Our left hand side looks secure if/when we lock up Taylan May as it would mean we have he, Skelton and Makasini all preferred left sided players.
I’m still not sold on To’a being our answer at right centre, if Turuva plays right wing I think we need someone of high quality at right centre. I’ve heard Jake Averillo is open to returning to Sydney, I think he would fit in nicely at right centre.

At least June 30 has passed. Otherwise we might have released him immediately.

The most sought after?
How so?

He doesn’t hold a candle to blokes like Watson, Wishart and Dylan Walker (just a few I can think of without trying)
Sure, your opinion. Teams with a stacked roster would love to get an additional player with forward value that can fill 90% of the positions on the field. I’ll give you Wishart, but Doueihi probably has the edge due to being a goal kicker. Even as a bonus they could play Doueihi and a second hooker on the bench with two specialist forwards. It’s all about continuity of play.

I don’t think it’s lack of suitors, it would only be regarding the contract value Doueihi believes he’s worth and what position he will be playing.
If he was happy to sign for 300k for next season, I’d say every club in the NRL would find a spot for him for his utility value alone.
However if he’s asking for 500k minimum and a guaranteed starting spot in the halves, not too many rivals would be able to find a spot for him.
What is he worth to us and are we a better team when he plays for us in the halves, that’s the questions I would be answering before we let him go elsewhere.
