Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I'm sure we do run plays at training and we know Benji gets in there and demonstrates what the wants to achieve. Why isn't it translating?

It may be round 20 but it is only round three with a new halves combination. Latu got "lost" on more than one occasion yesterday and you could see Luai at times trying to show him where to go, and praising his efforts when he got it right.

Luai is mentoring him during the game, possibly as much as he is during the lead up. We are slowly turning the corner - there was a bit of recognisable shape there yesterday along with some good signs on our edges. In a game where we were well below par in most areas we managed to grind out a win. That is a plus given the halves upheaval we have had.

There is plenty of improvement to be had - no doubt - but I think we are starting to see the fruits of Benji's labour. They are learning together - not ideal sure, but you can see the baby steps.
I just hope this coming pre-season that Benji & his coaching staff really drill the reps of our attacking structures into our players. Not only that but our systems (through rep after rep) become 2nd nature so if one player goes down, another can slot into their spot in the system and know their role. I am sure this is underway but it needs time through reps especially with inexperience in key positions like Latu & Bula still to a degree & the use of a linking lock. At least this coming pre-season, Benji will know his players for each position & backups. Last pre-season seemed more introductory of new players, experimenting who was playing where & team building.

Yes, we should have a very good handle on who fits in where and how we are going to play. Interesting discussion on the Game Review and Coaching Masterclass in relation to Hunt and his fitness KPIs to have him back playign FG with improved minutes. Not sure who will drop out of the trees in addtion to KPP but I think we need a 13 if AD isn't a successful at 13 or leaves. Regardless of what comes in the door we really need to nail hwo we are going to execute and get to the next man up situation within the club.

I'm not expecting too much NRL recruiting unless something drops out of the trees, we need to have the right players not anyone thats available. We will probably end up with better depth and guys pushing for FG than too much top down recruiting.

Yep, I think we have enough good backs now to have a next man up thing working for us. Staines has been very good, Makasini could be great, Mapapalangi and LL can do a job.

Not sure what they possibly get out of that other than a free Italian meal and expensive wine. Any of our guys looking at a slips and trips claim?
Who knows. But it smells like something is up... And atleast if we know who the 3 are we can put a line through them and move on...

Our pre-season next year will be severely hampered for our spine players. Bula, Fainu, Romey & Api will all feature in the international games at the end of the year. Those guys will then have a mandatory 8 week break at the completion of the tournament. If its the same dates as last year we may not see those guys until late January. The players can choose to come back earlier than the 8 weeks however.

Not sure what the hell they’re trying to “flog” on that budget website but possibly getting into player management.

Buzz trying to say on 360 that the three unnamed players at dinner with Lee and Pascoe “ was a massive slap in the face to Benji and Richo “… and even Brent Read wouldn’t agree with him …
Here’s a conspiracy theory TS, dinner was set up by Isaac Moses for his 3 clients in the top 17 … AD, Bula & Sukkar. Organised under the intent of discussing a sponsorship opportunity but IM knowing the circus it would start to create for his arch nemesis BQM.
