LIVE GAME Round 21 versus Panthers

Live Game Discussion
A dozen?
By my count it’s 6 or 7.
Luai, Api, Terrel, Turuva.
You could arguably count Bula, Pole and Sam Fainu.
The rest haven’t proven at all that they should be anywhere but reserve grade.
I’d add Taylan May even with the limited game time we’ve seen so far, and his brother. Skelton and To’a look injured. Outside of that we have a couple who are developing, but yes, the rest could only be described as depth/reserve grade players. We can’t carry that many subpar players and expect to win consistently.

By the way ladies and gentlemen, if we sack Benji I hope you're happy to lose Tito, Terrell, I would guess Taylan and Jarome. If you've heard how those boys talk about him there's no doubt how strong that connection is.
Are they the players that just got beat by 30? Again, what is the point of having all those guys if they don’t win games? Answer me that. What are we losing?

Our best players?

No doubt it’s been average from Luai, but they are all far better than the plodders around them. How do you expect to rebuild from losing them? How do you even replace them?
What’s the alternative, not sack Benji and continue to flounder. So what does having those players matter? I’d rather take my chances and cut ties with Marshall. If the players stick around, they might see things like The Wizard of Oz, going from black and white to colour with a coach who knows what he’s doing.

When I was a little boy I got upset with my Mum.
She had given me 20 dollars for my birthday and in an act of petulant defiance I flushed it down the toilet.
Same same.
Alright, you got me. Let’s keep the coach who has no idea, just to appease his mates in the playing group, who will continue not to have any success anyway under him. As long as everyone’s happy I suppose and Benji can still run around with them in the drills like it’s still 2009.

Why will we automatically lose all these players if Benji goes?
That’s fanfiction at its best….
Listen to some interviews/podcasts.

Doesn't necessarily mean we lose them, but he is a huge reason as to why they signed in the first place. How many players around the league have signed because of the coach, and then end up leaving? Quite a few examples.

I'd even guess it's a part of why Luai has his clauses.

If they want to leave because we are unhappy with the club moving on a coach who has built this roster that has collected 2 spoons and is heading for another bottom 4 finish, then they aren’t the professionals we need.
This isn’t a happy fun time, arse grabbing social club.

I think we should sack the whole coaching team, sack the CEO because he supports them, sack any player who claims to like Marshall and go back the start. Write a fifteen year plan, lock in Leichhardt as our home ground and beg Lachlan Galvin and Tallyn Desilva to come back. Or maybe call in Bob the builder, can he fix it?

No chance when you’re having to kick from within your own half every set
Luai's kicking is horrible, as the poster said he kicks it to the same spot every time, surely he can do better than that. I think when he played for the Panthers, the team actually made him look better than he actually is !
Jarome Luai you are getting paid a lot of money now start earning it please. !

Exactly.
Much bigger than our forwards lack of impact is the boring constant one out play without any support play or any variety.
It won’t matter what forwards we have if we cannot offer a bit of variety and support play, rather than this one out park football crap.
We’re too stationary - watch the good sides, they all keep moving.
We take a hit up and stand and watch, make a tackle - don’t get back on side…

We don’t know how to play, now we’re teaching kids like Fonua and the likes that actually have talent the same shit game.
Just happy to be there - not looking to compete at all.

His first kick.i think it was found space...split the winger and fullback and gave us time to get down there....that gave me some hope but it seemed all the folowing kicks bar one were straight down Edwards throat

I don't like commenting after a loss, especially one like this. However, this is the smartest comment I have seen on here for a long time. Our game plan is pathetic. Kick the ball reasonably high but not high enough to chase and always directly to the fullback. Casually run up the field, miss a few tackles, no pressure on their kickers then rinse and repeat. I thought we use to call this Taylor ball.
It would be a shame if we could play the ball quickly to stop the opposition hitting us as we receive the pass. Has Toa ever played the ball quickly without getting up complaining about the tackle or his injury. Time he was given a rest, one way or the other. His defense is very poor again. Back to his old self.
As you stated and many have implied, the coaching is not visible.
Overall, a very poor effort.
Spot on , rinse and repeat , I could not believe our bombs , it was like we aimed at Edward’s , not one long kick to the side along the ground type , not one kick into open area and worse no one nearly every kick trying to compete for it in the air

Well, they are not playing very well then - if they supposedly like the coach so much. the only two out of that bunch that are playing well are Tito and May

Maclean and Jenkins made our right look piss poor tonight.
Imagine if they were game breakers….
We could have had Toa and Tito there but coach again made the call , Staines and Lobb could have played fullback , Latu moved again. To lock with AD back to half , coach has lost it
