Thought the Dogs were seriously pathetic today.

Even though it was a sloppy, wet game and we made a bunch of mistakes, we outclassed them & bullied them. Three in every tackle, twisting them up and pushing them back.

Jacob Preston was the only one that showed some heart. Critta was enthusiastic as always, celebrating their tries but that's about all he was good for today... contained.

Lachlan Galvin’s return against his former club has turned into an absolute nightmare as the Tigers, who failed to score a single try last week, dominated a team tipped to be a genuine premiership contender.
The Bulldogs came into Sunday’s clash full of confidence and with the possibility of going top of the table with a win.

But the grudge match quickly turned into an ambush, with Benji Marshall’s men taking a big 20-4 lead into halftime.

And in the second half it didn’t get any better for Doggies fans, with the Tigers registering a dominant 28-14 win, with Canterbury fans incensed, labelling the performance ‘pathetic’ and claiming they are a team of pretenders.

After years of rebuilding, the Bulldogs appeared to have finally positioned themselves as genuine premiership contenders in 2025, but Sunday’s performance showed they still have a long way to go.

Going into Sunday’s grudge match, Canterbury was a perfect 12 from 12 against teams in the bottom 9, but they were wiped off the park by the Tigers.

And now incredibly the Tigers (3) have actually won more games against current top 8 sides than the Bulldogs (2).

“So much was made of this clash heading into today but in the end the Tigers have rubbed the Bulldogs’ noses into the mud, well and truly, Warren Smith said on Kayo’s broadcast.

“The pressure, the intensity, the emotion the Tigers are playing with have the Dogs absolutely rattled.” Smith said.

“ … They are being run over.”

The win for the Tigers lifts them above North Queensland on the NRL ladder into 12th.

The Dogs will stay in third place with a four-point lead on the Warriors, but need to go back to the drawing board after a shocking display.

And safe to say their fans were less than pleased with the performance.

“We have frauded our way into the top four,” one fan wrote.

“Absolute pretenders,” another said.

While a third commented: “Pathetic”.

Luai capped a memorable day for the Tigers with a short ball for a charging Samuela Fainu to make it 28-8.

And while Josh Curran grabbed a late consolation try, the Tigers ran out 28-14 winners.

An embarrassing loss for the Dogs, but a win that could see the Tigers turn a real corner with their sights set on finals footy in 2026.



 
I was loathing the prospect of this game, had no excitement coming in through the pouring rain. The dogs fans were incredibly loud at the start...credit to them.

But though we didn't play perfectly it was really physical play, particularly in defense. I still want to see the forwards running straighter and harder but they had the better of the play.

We were right in the corner under Burton's bombs, they were incredible. They are just impossibly high and the way the spin in the air...and Skelton handled them comfortably. He even drops one of them and the momentum of the game changes.

Doueihi and Naden also were standouts for all the little things they did on the field. Naden looked really confident out there. The ref seemed pretty random for both teams but while the dogs have great line speed, they jumped before the ball was played at least twice a set. I'm not one to complain about the refs, and we got the result, but if you were only watching on the telly and were wondering about our go forward, I think that explains a lot. Doueihi took really good options almost everytime, very hard to do that in those conditions. He has an excellent kicking game.

Bula and his speed and skill out there was a level above. Everyone looked sluggish compared to him.

Samuela's physicality in defense was impressive.

Finally, Sione added a lot with his runs in attack. Those extra five or so metres pushing through the contact changed the momentum of a number of our sets. He's been pretty close to our best forward lately.

Really proud of the team. I take my kids to most games and we haven't had many wins. This sort of game makes fans.

Relax mate.

Ok my opinion is Sukkar came on when we were getting bashed by the dogs and going nowhere. None of our forwarda could make any ground. He made his tackles and didnt get driven back when running the ball while everyone else was getting driven backwards.

Im not saying Sukkar is great, but when I take into context the environment he came into he held his own.
