Biscuits Stanton also a coach at Balmain during the 1980s. Very astute.

And there in the Souths jersey looking on is ex-Enfield Fed and ex-Magpie, Denis Pittard. He was a great player but what happened to him after football is a bit of a mystery. I read somewhere years ago that he got mixed up in the Nugan Hand Bank, a merchant bank that operated in the 1970s and was allegedly tied in with drug smuggling, arms deals etc. If anyone knows what happened to Denis I'd be most interested.

Biscuits Stanton also a coach at Balmain during the 1980s. Very astute.

“Biscuits” was a very good coach, also a Kangaroo coach back when you could do both. I think the nickname came from his hair colour.

Footy folklore has it that Frank S. earned the nickname "Biscuits" after a teammate, during a post-game shower, pointed at him and loudly declared "Ginger Nuts! What a Biscuit!" which became his lasting nickname!

Did a little bit of digging online but all I could find was a 2015 video of him having his possessions searched in Thailand where they found cash and marijuana.
Also mentions in another posting he possibly did time for embezzlement and was tied up with some nasty people. Possibly still living in Thailand but trail would be a bit cold now. Interesting that I can’t remember any of this being reported in Oz, especially when the press love a “name crook”.
Also seems that he and Bob Honan pulled some sort of swifty with their old South’s teammates, and they are not welcome at any reunions, dinners etc.( that is only hearsay from what I read, so don’t quote me).

Champion @coivtny - mate check this out (and there's more on the web) - Dennis was involved in some dirty stuff back then, far removed from the wonderful innocent days as a magpie in the late 60s.

Thank you so much @tiger_one. Gee he turned out to be a grub didn’t he. Must have been influenced by his time at Souths and Parra. Playing for them will do that to you.

Thanks Hal. I can never understand blokes who do the dirty on their mates. You shouldn’t do it to anyone but doing it to your mates is just the lowest.

I imagine someone will have more info. NRL players gone bad, there’s been a few like Paul Hayward, Les Mara, Doug Kemister, John Elias, Phil Franks and others.

A guy called Gary Sullivan played second row for Newtown. He was as tough as teak. He and his stepfather pulled off 14 armed robberies netting over $3m in the 1980s. A lot of Newtown players were either cops or robbers.
