Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

He coached them before.
Ive seen his name put forward about a million times today...everyone knows him from the pods
Enjoyed listening to him, however he blurts out things he probably should keep to himself if he wants a head coaching gig. Sounded like he sometimes shared info from people he still knows from his coaching days. He actually coached the girls to a premiership in Harvey Norman.

Anybody saying KPP is a dud or implying it , has NFI. The knights are the most left attacking centric team I have ever seen. Fully designing their whole gameplan and structures around a left centric fullback who plays half the games . The only time they hit the right , is to set up a block play back down the left . Which means , opportunities are scarce down that edge . They’re down the bottom in offloads , we are up the top . KPP stands in just about every tackle searching for runners , but like I said , all the support players are already setup for him to be playing the ball .
With a right edge that has a back rower who can stand in a tackle , next to a centre who can beat his man 7 times out of 10 , and the right being Bulas preferred side , there should be heaps of opportunities , and space for KPP. The gravity of Bula alone , has led to this . Eyes and hips pointed at Bula and not at the lead runner .
But anyways think whatever you want . I Benji has made a great call IMO. Great defender , but switch his shoulders and good positioning as well .

Ive seen adel on one of the podcasts. What's his background etc?
He did mention his CV on one of the earlier West Life podcast. But now has dropped off due to commitments to his coaching. From memory...

He played a part when our girls won the Harvey Norman a few years back. and seems very passionate when he talks about the women's in league and keeps in contact apparently.

He only left due to some politics with our last management team. He also mentioned in earlier episodes, that he would go back and coach the women's team for nothing to show that he was committed to the cause.

Currently coaches South Logan here in Brisbane, thumbs up for me.

KPP is a good signing he’s a walk up starter at right edge back row he will play well outside AD or Latu and inside Toa.

Best case scenario we can sign another starting prop have Sione and Pole off the bench. Move on from Bird and Hunt and recruit a tough ball playing lock that can play hooker if required like Kurt Mann, Donoghue, Max Plath. Throw in an experienced outside back for cover like Phil Sami while we are at it.

Asking a bit much but that would be a strong squad.

Does Alex get a bench spot ?

We need to aim higher than those 2 in my opinion.
Players such as Jonathan Sua, Jake Tago, Aaron Schoupp are far superior and our internal players such as Max Taotua and Tino Tavana have much better potential.

I was looking at the juniors the last few days I don't know if I am wearing Tiger Glasses and over rating them but it very much looking like we have about 5 or 6 very good players coming along

Do the Tigers need much other then a quality prop and a decent half ? And then go shopping in 27 ?

I reckon we need two props or id be happy enough with one and a lock, but both need to be certain NRL starters, we only have one NRL run on prop in the 30 and he needs help. The rest are bench props at best.

Possibly, but the point is we now have a roster imbalance while we have Sanuela Fainu, KPP, Mavrik Geyer, Tony Sukkar and Solomone Saukuru all as specialist edge back rowers in our top 30 and Ethan Roberts and Phoenix Godinet as specialist edge back rowers on our development list.
We now have too many edge back rowers and not enough middles, so you would assume there is some type of playing roster movement on the horizon.
Yes youd have to think they know we are stacked in back row and most likely looking to add a solid middle signing. Richos been quiet, almost too quiet.

Disagree,

Penrith wouldn't let Geyer go if he was top tier.

Tony Sukkar is a very solid young forward. Good defender and will get better with more game time.
Penrith under some salary cap pressure as the younger guys in the squad develop this year, so naturally those down the pecking order are shopped. In Mavs case I watched him pretty closely last year and he was solid, big body, hard to stop close to the line. We need that in the 20....
In Sukkars case hes got a ways to go, just my two cents.

The good thing about the second row room next year is that they all play a similar style which will be great for the team. All taller rangey second rowers who are creative types rather then the prop like second rowers.

My source has told me that the chooks let go of Ethan Roberts due to him not matching the play style Robbo (trent) wants to play. Which is second rowers work as extra props rather than attacking weapons. KPP, Samuela, Geyer and Roberts all similar mould which I love. I think we will see him come onto the bench and make that spot his own once he gets it. I have high wraps on Ethan Roberts he is a tremendous talent.

Sione will return to the middle rather then using him as a second rower. Yes he has been excellent because he is an excellent player but his home his at prop or lock. Will be great to have on the bench.

The geyer signing is an interesting one. I think Richo and Benji want him as depth and they will see how he goes. I think he could get a nice extension if he pans out. I like the signing and I hope he jumps Seyfarth on the depth chart
