I'm team Madge. He was the wrong coach for our club, but you could never doubt his passion or commitment. Would love to read a tell-all on his time here with us. I bet you he had to deal with some stupid stuff caused by the way the board worked and the fact we had two clowns in charge.

Having to deal with Noffa being Lee's pin up boy would break most coaches.

I’m not surprised. I’m not feeling any particular enthusiasm towards it. Personally I’m more interested in the social catch up and drinks with friends than the game itself.

Having to deal with Noffa being Lee's pin up boy would break most coaches.

Nofa got hammered at Lee's event (a wedding) then showed up hungover the next day at training. Then Lee overreached into the football department and demanded we re-sign him on big money for 4 years. What a disaster.

I thought at first he'd get us super fit, and would help with our shitty defence...but as you said his management didnt help him one bit

I thought Madge would get us fitted and more regimented during games but I think the change was too much for them. I actually believe if he had coached the following year we would of finished around 9th instead of the spoon

Then when sheen’s took back over I thought that at least we would become entertaining to watch even in in losses

But alas I was wrong
Just aswell I don’t gamble

If we waited one year and got an interim coach after Cleary, or just made him see out his contract, we could have had Wayne Bennett.

Yes what a monumental C up that was from our pathetic management at the time.

We may not have had to suffer for that long if Bennett got a hold of our roster and had his fingerprints over our junior pathways, we could have been in a really strong position presently.

We were very lucky to take out 2005 considering it's the only one we have played in 25 years.
