Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If Bula ends up at the dogs and the NRL rolls over again to the Isaac Moses games I won’t be surprised.

Managers run the game and it’s killed it off. Look at manly, they are making constant illogical roster management decisions and it’s because of Moses. We won’t be controlled by him (or his puppets) however in the short run it really hurts us. A club should not be stifled so much because of one management group.

A comp like r360 has serious potential to steal the nrls fan base if they don’t wisen up.

club cautious on activating their option at $800k is all. lots to play out.

further, you're going to hear this shit all summer. not ideal but until there's decisions made by Luai and Bula / WT it won't leave the news cycle.
No surprise that the rumours have started about Bula, with his moron manager trying to get a piece of the action , there’ll be plenty more

I’m not sure how smart it is to claim we won’t be controlled by him, yet have vital cogs constantly ripped out of the club. That’s not exactly a competent way to deal with the situation. The club has to figure this out moving forward. You can’t just not have players of the most influential agent in the game at your club.

Think you’ll find that the club option is $900 k, if they don’t activate it, he’s a free agent or he can activate $800 k clause

funnily enough Michael Chammas thinks it's the other way round. club option worth $800k, Jahream's is worth $900k. I'd back him over most journos tbh. knows his shit.

regardless not worth losing him over a $100k valuation gap in my view. by 2027 I think he'll absolutely be worth $800-900k, especially with the expansion clubs in the offing.

every time you say this i remind you the roosters have a strict no moses policy and do just fine.

Spot on , he has the players so he goes out to get the best deal for them and his pocket , but the only thing I would look at is if he is just placing ridiculous prices on his staff , that’s where Richo needs to earn his keep to get best deals for our club

So your saying roosters do not have one player from his stable , he owns it so they are his and it doesn’t matter what lackey does the deal he would be the one singing it off to suit him and his business

Why ? - it's not going to be based in Australia, initially there'll be only 6 male teams . All players will be registered to one Federation and they'll be subject to a draft. So you won't be able pick where your base is - so those players who might find moving from Brisbane to Sydney tough - moving from Sydney to Boston or Cape Town might be a stretch.

It’s weird how it works tho, from what I understand you can be set up anywhere in the world and just represent that team/city. Logistical nightmare

I reckon Souths will give Jye Gray the fullback spot to keep him
Just some info about r360

How will it work?

Details are minimal at this stage, but this is what we know so far.

  • The inaugural season will launch on October 2, 2026, and include six male teams and four female teams.
  • In 2027 (a Rugby World Cup year), the 12-event competition will run from April to September and include semi-finals and a final. The men’s competition will expand to eight teams.
  • In 2028, the competition will include 16 events running from April to September.
  • The franchise locations are expected to be based in London, Miami, Tokyo, Dubai, Boston, Cape Town, Lisbon, and Madrid.
  • The teams will be registered to the United Arab Emirates Rugby Federation.
  • Players will be granted full releases to play international rugby.
  • The players will own their IP and not be owned by their team or R360, maximising their off-field earning capacity.
  • A player draft will be held in July of next year, with players will be assigned to teams.
  • All players will be able to choose their country of residence and won’t be asked to reside in their franchise location

Is it worthwhile calling the NRL’s bluff is the real question? Do they stick to a 10 year ban if/when it falls over or do they welcome the likes of Lomax back with open arms. Think they also needa be concerned with grassroots players who can still switch codes like RA was hoping Masi would, what’s their punishment if they even get one, because they’re not NRL players
