Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

i’d rather we pay overs than lose him. chammas & weidler aren’t connected in the club so the info is coming from isaac which concerns me big time. don’t want to see him in a dogs jersey.
Chammas doesn't get his info from Isaac. he has plenty of mutual friends but not from Isaac directly. he also has a lot of close connections to WT from his time being close to Pascoe during the Madge era. those lines of contact don't just disappear.

no i know, but weilder is. just because it’s coming from chammas’ mouth doesn’t mean it’s not from isaac if you get me. tin foil hat stuff but driving bula’s value down like he was gets the dogs a cheap deal.

i’d get our hesitation if we had a tedesco coming through but we don’t. richo needs to have a back up plan

Bula can activate his own extension with us at 800k per season if he really loves the club and wants to stay.
By him not doing that the club knows where they stand with him.
Why would he activate it if teams like Perth and R360 come in with bigger, longer term offers?

Moses also doesn’t want Bula to activate that clause because he won’t get paid for 2 more years…

I would assume so and if could mean the club sees him as a 800k per season player, not a 900k per season player just yet.
Richo is what we need, a leader to ensure we value players correctly and stands their ground with managers.

Look tbh I don't want Bula to leave as much as the next person but what Bula does now will tell a big story on his commitment to the club. I'm sure he'll activate his option or renegotiate a new steeped deal so IM gets his %.

But if he doesn't, we'll be fine in the fullback market with the talent out there (Jye Gray, AJ Brimson, Joey Manu and the list goes on).

Why would R360 know who Bula is ? They will have enough RU players from Europe, Japan, South Africa, Fiji etc and Australia/NZ not to have to worry about a fullback from a team that has run no better than 13th in the last 4 years in the NRL. Most NRL fullbacks do not have the kicking, defensive skill set that RU requires. Bula is untried in professional RU. They can pick better fullbacks from all those places mentioned above that a background in the game. Same goes for Perth - if they want to make a splash they aren't going to come after a one-trick pony from the 13th best side.

tbf r360 are looking at Jye gray & Will Kennedy so lol it’s not that far fetched. we already know he’s on perths radar.

You cannot just pay players an extra 100k above what you believe their true value is.
If the word got out about that happening, every player would be putting their hand out.
How would you define "true value"?

Bula's value to us at this point of time is enormous. He isnt replaceable from within the club and we would be hard pressed to find a better prospect from outside. Plus a hell of a lot of time and effort has been spent on development.

Bula's value to a club like the Roosters or the Dogs is less.

Totally! It would seem to me that R360 would have little to no interest in most NRL players. They will look at players who have a union background.
