Samuela Fainu #280

Samuela seems to have the desire and dedication to take his game to great heights. Mario comes across as genuinely invested in his clients' careers and lives in general.

Both of them seemed fully behind the direction the club is heading and the leadership of Benji and Richo.

It also appears Manase Fainu is a legitimate chance of joining the Tigers if he is cleared by the NRL and can return to good playing shape. Something to keep an eye on in a year or so. Mario indicates he is pushing for it to be considered and that Benji has broached the subject with him.

Yeah I like Mario, and he thinks the tigers are on track and have good people in place to help his clients. It’s actually refreshing instead of the usual Mastheads bashing us. They are saying Samuela is a future Tigers captain! If the NRL do approve Manase he would have to prove himself in cup first even to be considered.

2026 is shaping up as a big year for this club

Maybe our Centre of Excellence is more of an attraction than what it gets credit for when you hear of players such as Samuela who lives in Guildford travelling to Concord to train regularly throughout the off season.
If it was not an attraction he would surely just train at a gym much more local to him.

It's free for him to use, that would help too.

I have been out there a number times, it's a great facility, easy to access from the west and the city. Also has plenty of parking.

Just listened to this podcast and it just rams home how great the Fainu brothers are for our club and our club for the brothers.

Also picked up a few gems that others have touched on above ...

... Samuela already training through October
... Benji already talking with Mario about Manase playing at the Tigers down the track (but ultimately it will be an NRL decision)
... The impact Luai has had on the club & team off-the-field
... How valuable both Luai & Turuva are for the culture and how they get everyone revved up
... In the leadership group are Api, Luai, Bula, Twal, AD, Seyfarth, Pole, Turuva & Samuela (and I've heard elsewhere that Star is too)

Good to hear a bit more from Samuela on the pod. Some good insights into his attitude and family challenges. One of the podcasters is a bit of a punish to listen to though.
