Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Reading a couple of interesting takes regarding recruitment/retention and Richo's involvement. Seems like since he has taken over when it comes to resigning players he sets a hard line, I.e this is what we are going to offer you as we view you to be worth X and if you don't like so be it. Looking at galvin the minute the club didn't see him resiging they got on the front foot and announced he has refused to resign. Dasilva came to the club and apparently asked for more and was shown the door mid season.
My gut feeling is that every day longer we hear nothing about the Bula situation the better. If he was looking at leaving, and the club wasn't confident he would resigned, the club would be on the front foot trying to control the narrative.

He hasn't even pulled on a jersey for us yet and you want to right him off, so typical of player bashing that there's too much of on here.

At least wait till he puts in a shit performance like the rest of us before you put the boot in.
Fair enough but he’s 29 and I’ve watched him closely for the warriors. He could prove me wrong and hopefully he does

That would actually make the Warriors genuine contenders for the title. Hope it happens.
it’s not happening https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/s...ws-story/0458709a03a1ccb7e38e6b7da68123b4?amp

Possibly but I think the delay is tied directly to being in camp on rep duty, when he gets out of camp whichever way it goes, we should know soon enough

Agree. Wouldn't shock me if negotiations haven't really even started yet. As such, Id expect were still ages away from a decision being made and the current 'delays' are actually non existent and nothing to worry about either way.

That's right, the guy would be no good for us, he has missed the last 2 Grand Finals with the storm due to suspensions.

Imagine the furor on this forum if he came here and missed the 2026 and 2027 Grand Finals playing for us.

No thanks.
I have been wondering where you have been mate you haven't been active. Hope everything is ok on your end.

Not fussed how long it takes greg as long as it's no more than 800k and to 29, keep the spine settled for a few years would be ideal.

Well said...

This started from "Stef, Lachy and Galvin".

Were we trying to sign both personalities of Lachlan Galvin?

Stef has been weird leaving the Tigers. He played finals and is more Consistent. Would we have wanted him at 1m though... NO. Not a single forum poster has said "Why dinnit we keep Stefano and not sign Terrell May?"

Not 1.
As much as I agree with others that we are better off losing players than paying ridiculous overs to keep them, that isn't the point.
The point is the club couldn't convince them to stay at a fair price. I don't really hold Richo accountable for this. Poopy Diaper explained well how he is battling against the recent history of the club when trying to convince them to stay.

Finally, why is it only one or the other when it comes to Utoikamanu and May? Personally I think it is a bit of a cop out to view it this way. My opinion is we are short a quality front rower, which Utoikamanu is. It would have been nice to have the two of them form our starting front row.
So if you are looking for one poster upset we couldn't retain him, I am one. Though I also think he was offered a fair deal which he rejected. So again hard to blame Richo and I wouldn't want him blowing the cap on him either.

That’s not quite correct t! It has been reported that numerous players have been approached. Therms like 7 wallabies, 10 current English internationals, current Welsh internationals etc. Nono specific names at this stage. Tindall and co understand if names are in public before the competition has the complete go ahead ( financial & a viewing platform) then the players named lose their livehood.

But releasing the NRL names is fair enough ? I doubt it’s still coming from the player agents given the 10 yr ban threat applies to them for merely negotiating with 360

Odessa do you see any positives in playing rnd1 globally ,all seems a bit pie in the sky ,
Clubs are getting 4 mill over 4yrs to compensate PNG joining , lol ,
Money should be spent on grass roots
communities that love the game , and chook raffles, rock da house

Grass roots is the most important part of the game I go down to watch Gymea gorillas play there is a few benches there and sit and watch the games it's so good being up close and hearing the hits and the passion of the players

Also if I was the Perth bears I would have pushed to have a reserve grade team play this year in QLD or NSW just to get a head start pick the best players in Perth and let them play in a harder league

With the 4 million to me that translates to each club gets 4 million each of Albos tax grab off the Australian public

I would have put rules in place that each club has to at least spend 1 million of that in junior development or take a place like Parks they have played a few NRL games there over the years give them a few million for some upgrades and get a NRL match there once a year

And jet setting games around the globe I would take games to Japan a friend coached rugby over there for years and said they love it you almost have a ready made audience

So what?
Forum posters don’t sign the players.
What is your point?
