It is based on fact,an unofficial truce did actually break out in a few locations along the front and there was a soccer match between british/german teams.The high command in all armies were absolutely horrified and moved all units to other parts of the front so the killing could start again.Never underestimate the stupidity of politicians and the military.

None of those blokes wanted to be there except for a very few that didn't know what they were in for.
The atrocities.
The slaughter of millions of innocent Jews.

I like to watch stuff on channel 1125 I think? about WW2 and the bravery shown by soldiers on both sides.

One of the saddest things I've seen was a WW2 remembrance wall somewhere in Germany (I cant recall the town). On it, were several groups of surnames, clearly related brothers, fathers, uncles, all from the same villages. Entire villages emptied by a lunatic regime.
