Though that would be ideal, Wests Campbelltown doesn't have the $$ to run a NRL team.

What would be better is if HBG made Wests Tigers a public company and float it on the stock exchange. I don't want some wealthy backer owning too much of the club though, limit the shares that a single investor can purchase.

Even better if the NRL compelled HBG to list it on the ASX because of their long-term incompetence.
They can then do whatever they like with sale price and West Ashfield's income.

No, it's the NRLs IP, same issue occurred during super league and the arl stopped super league clubs from using their logos.

Yes, there is a bit of doom and gloom - but it is to be expected given the events of this afternoon. There will always be those that will stick with it; hard times make the end result more worthwhile. Miserable while we are going through it but we come through it eventually. This is just another obstacle on the road that needs to be dealt with.

People survived world wars, potato famines and the depression. I think we can get through a couple of lean years supporting a sports team!

Lol I have a theory that HBG makes most of its money staying in the media.

It's fair if they wanna sack but the reasoning is quite poor.

PRepare for lots of negative articles, more clicks ,more media coverage, lots of PR.

They're in the business of staying relevant, not in the business of winning games. They aren't chasing excellence, they're just chasing quick bucks to make a profit and stay relevant in the media.

Great theory - and coming from a long term Magpies supporter I can understand the logic!

There has NEVER been ambition from the WSDRLFC to be a genuine contender - but the participation trophy and perks of corporate boxes etc are what Dennis & his debenture cronies crave!

MY theory is that a few debenture holders are sodomising the joint-venture for their own clout and self-interest!

Balmain remained ambitious - while the Magpies shat the bed - moved house and continued to decline!
