Breaking news: HBG takeover

Plan is to try and get the nrl involved, we have put together a release to attack socials and are just trying to get as many groups as possible on board as signatories.
Didn’t HBG already put you off by agreeing to change & then backflipped

We're going to have to rename Shane Richardson, Icarus - it sounds like he flew too close to the sun and is about to come crashing to ground and bounce through the exit. Booting his supporters on the board is just the first step.

Footy is a weird animal. Maybe the same goes for life? Small things like a jersey colour can easily escalate into big things.

Reading between the lines, Richo and the independent directors may have been under a naive belief that being "independent" = running roughshod over the club owners and reps on the board.

I may be wrong on the above and have zero insider knowledge.

As much as I am a Richo fan, I don't think this is the end of the world if he does end up leaving.

Richo is not perfect … but he seems to have turned around a number of things on and off the field .. I’m not sure who is the next one coming to replace him to work under the debenture holders that control the club

There’s probably only one desperate fool who would do it and it’s not Dustin Dascoe

Is there precedence for that? Has the NRL ever revoked a licence due to the way a club has been run
Closest is the warriors. Auckland RL sold the warriors to the Maori tribe tainui back in 98. The understanding was if they gave up the license or the company set up went broke the license would return to A RL.
When they did go broke NRL stopped the license going back to Auckland RL and sold it to Eric Watson.

Is that you, Burgo?

He's absolutely a good and competent CEO. I saw this up close in a past work life. I agree he is not perfect. I saw lots of this too.

Best case scenario would be that he stays.

If he does walk though, there will be no shortage of people wanting the job.

The podcasts should reunite and organise an actual boots on the ground protest that all the fans that care can support with the agenda that the HBG group need to go and the WESTS TIGERS members can vote on a path forward that is best for the football club … anything better than the aholeS that have led us to the failures of the last 15 bloody years.. make it clear that we are behind Richo and the independent board and HBG is redundant … to hell with Burgess and his chook raffle debenture holding never wasses
I wonder if the petirion group and.podcast guys would think getting Darcy Byrne onside for this.
He had a large loud platform...hed be able to access Leichhardt Oval...a major online shout out on all the socials to organise a protest

I remember back in about 2003 the Stop the rot movement organised by an ex forum member was succesful in getting some funding for renos at LO...blocker junior i think..wiz was there...I think @Kul was there too.

Might be crazy idea...but it might be very prominent

I am sure both our catchment mayors would add their names to this. I see that Paddy Tobin from Save Leichhardt Oval on Facebook group has also sent out a media release.
