HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

Wasn't going to throw my 2 cents worth in but can't help myself. To start with , i believe the Barnes Holman group board of directors are a bunch of brain dead morons.They are ruining what was looking like a pretty good season coming up. There is no excuse for this behaviour and these dopes with thier dinosaur agendas have to go. Obviously the voting model for the Board of directors at Wests Ashfield has to be changed to a fairer system where it is easier to get rid of these flogs and get some people with the right perspective to take thier place. On another note, they need to change the name to maybe the Dumb shit Group and stop using the names of two of the greats of the game in Keith Barnes and Keithy Holman , absolute Champions and Gentlemen to boot.

With Denny, and Monty (who WM replaced with Leo Epifania) outnumbered by 4 competent directors, the WT board guided Richo with making definitive and progressive decisions which had led to an increase in memberships and revenue, a stadium plan coming to fruition, and all-round positive reporting of the club in the media by the end of the 2025 season. The club improved in spite of having two WA cronies on the board, because they were outnumbered when it came to any vote or stupid idea they brought to the table. Because we know what happens when their outdated and horrendous considerations and ideas are acted upon. Let's lay them out.

When Wests Magpies had five (4x WA, and 1x WM) of the eight to nine directors (majority) on the WT board in the decade up to the end of the 2023 season, they had complete control of the strategic direction of the club:
- there was little thought to the state of the club's home venue's (taking out a long-term lease at Lidcombe appeared to be the most important agenda regarding home grounds).
- approved the allocation of free memberships to staff, their partners, their dogs, etc to bump up flailing membership numbers but received no income from them.
- sacked several coaches (another couldn't leave the joint quick enough once his old club asked him back) because their due diligence was shit or didn't provide support to them.
- brought back a senile ex-coach who sued the club the last time he was sacked because some journo reckoned it was a good idea.
- signed off on hiring his recruitment guy and approved his idea of signing up a harold matts team to top 30 contracts.
- then went behind the head coach, assistant coach (who was to become the head coach) and the incumbent recruitment guy's back to bring in another recruitment guy who's only real claim is simply having Fulton in his name.
- And all the shit player recruitments they signed off on too.

Shall I go on?

WA had their go and they turned the club into a laughing stock culminating in three wooden spoons to round off their stellar decade long run. It wasn't getting better. They brought the club to it's knees.

You have a bunch of 20 insular karnts who are simply concerned with protecting their own self-interest and agendas, and their stewardship is completely out of touch with fan base of the club. It's a governance system that led to the demise of their precious Magpies in the big league, and that's where they'll send Wests Tigers too. Three recently appointed holders are 'member-elected' Magpie's football club directors.

These cretins don't contribute their hard-earned (we pay more for memberships), they have not brought any success to the club. They are simply protected by a constitution none of them is willing to repeal, but rather back stab each other to protect their own individual fiefdoms within it.

You're either one of the 20 holders, or a relation, to continue to support these dopey-arsed operators.

The team and coach was actually assembled by hbg
The only signing I believe was may midyear under the new board , or are you saying because who is the actual board members determines if players play shit ?

You've failed to answer how HBG didn't know about decisions the football club board was making when they had 2 members on the board...

But now you are using the 2 members on the board to support a position..

Um, because they want Wests magpies? As I've said before, blind Freddy can see this, LH came out and said he knows of directors at the HBG who knows this to be fact.. so why can't you acknowledge it?

Its irrelevant if we think it can happen or not.

The fact is, the HBG, or factions of it, have this vision .. therefore, they'd happily derail the Wests tigers short term success for what they think is the long term vision..

Again, we all know it won't happen, but we aren't talking about normal people, we are talking about the deluded HBG..

So we just let them continue on the deluded path and continue to fail as a club? Sure, great idea!!

It's more than just signings rugba. It's culture amongst players.. the vibe amongst the fans... The perception from the rest of the NRL and media.

Any good decisions the HBG may have made have been completely undone x100...

Got nothing to do with HBG and they just shat on the two best things about this club and no doubt have got all the players thinking here we go again.

The response to that issue from HBG was [This word has been automatically removed]ing disgusting. He gropes a woman and Burgess and the rest of the spineless dogs that were on the HBG board made him go to a training session.

David Gilbert was the one who brought the incident to the attention of the CEO, so I wouldn't tarnish his name alongside the others. Both the harassment claim against VT, and his support for the independent review into the NRL club were issues that put him on the outer with the most of the WA debenture holders. He gave up his debenture holder status after he was banned for 6 months in the wake of the 2024 purging of the WA board.

Tropiano, and Montgomery are tight allies of Burgess.

Sorry my bad. I do remember the reports of Gilbert reporting the incident, not being happy with the response, and getting rissoled because of it and his support of the independent review.
