Justin Pascoe was allowed to choose extremely ordinary hair cuts.

And sometimes, when the whim took him, he'd go on holiday mid-season & watch Tigers games in remote locations.

HBG didn't pull him up on that. In fact, I think they enjoyed his quirkiness.

Other than that though- I think we need to be fair. Either 1 of 2 things is true. Either Pascoe was a terrible CEO making wildly foolish decisions, OR he was completely under the control of HBG & was victimised for decisions he really had no part in.

We can't accuse him of both if we want to believe HBG didn't allow him any freedom.

After the merger Wests still have the Magpies in NSW Cup, but Balmain don't have the Tigers anymore, so all you can do is throw all your eggs into the WT's bucket.

Magpies on the other hand are lucky enough to be able to share their eggs into 2 buckets if they choose, and any way they choose.
Some Magpie fans choose to put all their eggs into the WT's bucket while some put all their eggs into the Magpies bucket only.

The third alternative is to put some into both buckets, and why not for Magpie fans.
Why reject the team you have followed for many years as they are still alive and kicking.

But the WT's play in the NRL while the Magpies don't, so if you want to watch NRL on TV and on the radio [maybe you live in a regional area as I do] you have to follow WTs.

Now it's time to split the eggs up.
Some will put 8 into the WT's bucket but choose to still remain loyal to the Magpies by putting the remaining 4 into their bucket.
We are loyal Wests Tigers fans with the added advantage of still having the Magpies to follow, but in most cases not with the same intensity as when following the Magpies only, as an 8 egg intensity has gone to WTs.

The eggs were cooked into a delicious omelet 25 years ago! Wests Tigers supporters support the Magpies in NSW cup, they are one of us, not something that needs to be split. I'm ex-balmain, but I'd cheer on the Magpies as hard as Balmain in NSW cup.

Honestly, mate, I think you're a lost cause.

h_t... why do we need to give up our Magpie heritage?

We all have the opportunity to cheer the Magpies in the NSW Cup while backing the Tigers in the NRL.
It's not and doesn't have to be either/or as Our Black and White heritage still flies strong.
Instead of wanting to delete the Magpies, why not join in cheering them to help them improve so we produce players of 1st grade quality quicker?

That would surprise me, Daniel Paton has been fairly complimentary of Benji, whereas he was very matter of fact about Richo…

Tough place for Benji though, I wonder if he will be able to buy into the HBG vision for the sake of coaching the club he loves? Likely without the ability to attract talent at a reasonable price…
