HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

I am confident now that something like this will not happen again because they can see what the ramifications are,” V’landys said
How can it happen again?

HBG can just go on their merry way and do what ever they want with their majority, no need to sack any of the independents because they now effectively have no power and no say to do anything.

If anything, I can see independents walk away frustrated knowing they can do very little.

Yep. I'm not satisfied with this outcome.
They got a slap on the wrist by PVL - no way they rehire OFarrell and the independents unless they were forced to. But increasing the size of HBG's representation -( makes sense if the governance structure was performance and skilled base - )but we know what we get and keep and so I can't support more of the same by not showing up to the march on the back of the latest development.

I’m not satisfied either … so we continue

Idk, I’ve seen a lot of posts to the contrary lately. People saying the club should be bought when it’s not even for sale.
Who is it owned by though? A bunch of dinosaurs who hold a $100 debenture and won't relinquish any control?

I get the club not being for sale line. But I'm not okay with it being controlled by a small group that aren't accountable to anyone other than themselves.

Then why would the independents come back at all? Doesn't that seem strange? They must know what they are stepping into.

No I cannot.

Can you explain why everywhere you see Wests Ashfield or Wests Tigers written about- they refer to the majority owners being HBG?
Thought experiment.

If the Australian government owns something. Does the government own it? Or the people just give whoever is in government the power to administer it?

If the government was mismanaging that asset, and you couldn't vote the government out, would your stance be the same?

The principles you are basing everything on is simply ownership related to name on title. The second layer to that, which you never address, is how ownership and control differ depending on the type of structure used to incorporate.

I'd agree with you while heartedly if it was a privately owned entity, but it's not in this case here.

Thanks bro

Reviewing policy lol its up to their discretion.

What was your vibe on the bloke?
Seemed genuine.

Sounded fairly knockabout and could hold a conversation.

Didn't push back on me sharing HBG opinions, but was keen to bring the conversation back to the football side of things and the positivity around that.

He has had success under dysfunctional ownership in previous roles.
