I think Richo leaving and Shaun taking over isn’t a bad thing.

Benji extension and how Shaun got the interim role & we don’t have an independent board is the problem. That’s the issue alot of people have is how and where we ended up.

HBG posted upfront they made the decision because they wanted unity and it was strategic for the wests tigers whilst being fully behind Richo & Benji.

Within 10 days

the decision was reversed but the board setup changed with the board punted welcomed back

Richo gone

We have an interim CEO with no timeline

Benji was extended even himself saying he didn’t deserve it yet

Division within fan base, directors and factions is all over the media

A wests director publicly bagging fans for uniting in their support for wests tigers and telling them to get stuffed in harder words but only focusing on wests magpies.

The board member options by HBG don’t have to have any experience at all in running companies let alone football clubs.

None of the above that HBG caused aligns to anything to their initial statement.

It’s clear to everyone they don’t want independence and want to be the primary decision maker.

That isn’t setting the club up with unity or strategy, but does set HBG up.

PVL has stated if there is continued in house board room fighting there will be ramifications.
It’s like nobody is believing him ?
In addition to that there is absolutely no way the 3 independent board members including BOF would have agreed to return if their thoughts and decisions do not matter. That tells me PVL has given them assurances their opinions and decisions will matter regardless of any board room voting system and if they continue to feel disrespected he will take the necessary action which would likely be removing HBL from thecownership.
Reading between the lines it’s 💯 a final warning scenario.

No inside knowledge about the events of last week, but I agree that it would appear that Richo probably had some involvement in his demise.

Thanks K7. Seems that as the dust settles we may come out of this in reasonable shape as long as HBG can remain in the background and stay out of future WT progress and development.
I am sure Richo wasn’t an angel but he just may have been the protagonist that we needed and Mielekamp may now be the smoother operator required to take us forward from here.
Agree that Bula extension would be a timely positive spin right now.

We will see. I have alot of doubts.

Let’s see what happens at the board meeting on Monday and decisions over the next few months re how they react and various appointments they make formally.

The idiotic decision to extend Benji is quite obviously a culmination of trying tj please the fans in light of the hysteria of the past week.
Do you think it would have happened if there was no outrage from the fans about Richo ?
Further to that do you think Shaun Mielenkamp seems tj be a very good choice as our CEO at a fraction of the cost Richo was being paid ? Maybe we can now have a recruitment manager like every other NRL club.

Classic HBG to patch up a bad decision with another dubious decision.

No, actually I think they extended Benji because they panicked about the discontent within the roster over the unrest from the owners. Paton said The Board had full confidence in Richo and he was gone days later, so they panicked about Benji.

And if HBG want a recruitment manager, pony up the funds? They keep telling us how profitable they are.

Only incompetents would celebrate cutting a well-established if expensive administrator THAT THEY CONTRACTED AND EXTENDED, for a cheaper unproven option, with the vague possibility of freeing up funds.

I dont think anyone really thinks Richo is a clean skin?

Rugby League isn't run by saints and nice guys, it has always had a dark core.

Benji said in the press conference that Jerome’s clauses aren’t going anywhere. He’s completely committed to the club but with what can happen at our club it would but be smarter for him to keep them in as a safety net.
