HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

HBG knew full well Richo wouldn't stay under a HBG run board. Richo said so him self sitting next to Julie Romero. If he felt HBG wernt going to follow through on the reviews finding of implementing the independant board members, he specifically stated he wouldn't have stuck around. HBG knew full well when they got rid of the board members Richo was gone as well. They knew exactly what they were doing and it was 100% intentional.
They knew Richo was out the door once the fired the 4 board members. That was 100% intentional.

Otherwise IMHO they had no bloody clue. It's like watching clowns put out a fire.

I've got no correct answer to a hypothetical.
Well hey I have crap Answers. Lets work this:

Right. So despite doing really well on and off the field last year,
<Head explodes trying to work out what team you were watching>
you are only concerned with the make up of the board?
I am concerned about the people on the board, wearing Makeup!

I mean seriously he looks like a Granny special. "Cmon sugar, come here and Ill give you milk and cookies".

Is it fair to say that prior to last years independent board, the board had been HBG majority for 10 years presiding over the worst period in the clubs history?
Kinda nah.
2016-2018 we were coming 9th. In fact 2018 we came 9th with Ivan Cleary and IMHO I cannot fault the board with that appointment. Yes we can fault the board in 2017 for putting too much pressure on Aaron Woods. Woodsey was plodding and asked to make a statement against Jason Taylor and it all fell through.

Really it's 2020 onwards that our football performance has sucked.

Let's for a moment imagine the last 10 years was run under a Balmain majority. Would you be marching to the same tune as now?
??

None of this is about Football or anything onfield.
They rehired Benji Marshall for 4 years. 4 Years, given away just like that. Benji as coach saying he doesn't deserve it!

I see no difference because we should be focused on how to win premierships. Not fluff about with this dumb Balmain vs Magpies argument, it changes nothing on Field.

I'm trying to make the point that my criticism is directed at individuals, not Wests. I criticise the decisions, nothing else.

Cleary...great appointment? For a little while yes. He extracted 120% out of what he had, but we lost Moses and Tedesco under him. He left us with a huge amount of overpaid has-beens and dumped us in the middle of the contract citing board disunity. It took us a long time to clean up that cap mess...the board approved all those contracts.

Prior to that it was Jason Taylor.

Not saying Cleary can't coach, but it's undeniable that he destroyed our cap for many years.

You're only new & I don't know what you're angle is etc. Take everything on face value.

weststigers is not a bad poster on here. I've spoken to him & he's a cool guy as far as I'm concerned. There are a few others on here that have started using similar styles in this 'emotive topic'.

Don't blame the posters for the way this place responds. It's been allowed to happen.

"emotive topic" is a shield to use to allow some aggression to be let out. If you can deal with the consistency of 'education' you are given on here, it's generally a good place to be.
Saying "don't blame the posters, it's been allowed to happen" is 💯 correct TC.
And allowing criticism that is often harsh, actually ENCOURAGES more criticism.

Yeah probably why you laugh at my responses.

Blind Freddy can see people like you try to control the narrative and discourage alternative views.

That's why this forum is a bit suspicious really.
Perhaps you might be better served challenging my argument rather than trying to attack my character?

I don't mean to piss on your parade, but last time I checked it's not illegal to think HBG has destroyed our club through it's diabolical behaviour attributed to 20 unaccountable debenture holders. You're welcome to disagree with me, but it's not "controlling the narrative" if I disagree with you.

I'm flattered that you think I have so much power over the narrative, but if you look outside this forum, you'll see the same narrative by non-Tigers fans, media, podcasters etc. I'm not alone...I'm part of the majority and I'm not going to play this game where you and your sock puppet accounts try to put people on the defensive by throwing out vague accusations.

There's an intelligent bunch of people on here and it's well understood, if you're going to say something, you'd better come with a logical opinion or some evidence to convincingly state your case.

That's probably what you're missing because your throwaway lines on Facebook amongst other diehard Magpies supporters never cop any real scrutiny. My pop said this and my mate said that and Leo used to catch the high ball in the 80's is going to get pissed all over here. If you're looking for a place to post unchallenged, then you're welcome here always, but you won't find what you're looking for.

Look other then Batboy and some others.

Do we really still 'fight' about this in forum land?

I really feel Denis and about 8 old men are fighting. .. That's about it.

Sure a few people are bating here. I think most members are really passed this so called Balmain vs Magpies thing.
I don’t support clowns, there’s plenty of both at Wests and Balmain.

I’ve been a stanch supporter of the betterment of Wests Tigers longer than you’ve been here.

Unfortunately, that means neither foundation club having anything to do with running the football club - as its performance over 26 seasons suggests..

And that’s certainly not my fault.

The NRL needs a better implementation authority in the SW. A WTs with new ownership under BOF and independent directors, plus our new CEO. With 54,000 new households and the new airport metropolis WTs has a strong case for funding assistance from State and Federal authorities as well as from the private sector. Goals -

Winning

Increased participation of girls and boys in SW

Maintain and improve traditional areas

Continue on the good work of WTs being profitable.

Increase pay and free to air viewing audience

New stadium for WTs (one ground) with facilities for other sports and entertainment in growth area. New stadium at Camden, Narellan, Oran Park or near airport with links to planned rail.

Seek additional funding for a more extensive junior development officer network, programmes and recruitment staff
Work to make the new stadium the heart of RL in Australia with GF played in SW.

What’s wrong with my idea of a shared stadium ( with Dogs) in Liverpool ?
Just replicate CommBank there.
Perfect location. Cost efficient.

Yep... Look I wont blame Cleary for the big 4. Heck his "big 17" put that Ego trip to rest.

But yes, 100% ruined the cap. I actually think Cleary has a poor skill in picking players. He can just coach really really well.

Liverpool is now the inner south west of Sydney and a stadium at Liverpool imo does nothing for our regions further south west. Our territory is extends to Camden, Narellan, Oran Park and the new airport metropolis. Many of our juniors come from those areas and we need to mark our territory. This will never happen if the boardroom is divided by loyalties to clubs which are long gone. The NRL needs to establish a new WTs free from the tiring HBG, Wests and Balmain dramas. $18m says it has the final decision and imo we are best served by encouraging PVL to act.

I agree with this but it only takes a few individuals to reignite the acrimony and dissension. As long as that level of dissension exists, the Wests Tigers will continue to flounder. It appears that some board members know this and are happy to encourage it for their own sad reasons.
There are a couple of posters on this forum that agree with that aim. It would not surprise me if they are very closely aligned with the board.
I agree with others that Vlandys, or someone capable of taking this further, needs to have an in depth look at Wests Tigers governance and intervene. The evidence is pretty clear, WT have gone from making gains with an independent board, to taking two steps back as a result of an ownership action that is yet to be explained.
To me it is clear, the current ownership either does not have the best interests of Wests Tigers as their guiding principle or are incompetent. It is as simple as that, and is what the NRL or other body needs to look at and change. Otherwise we will remain as also-rans and a feeder club for organisations that have competent and committed leadership.
