HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

Are you actually serious? That is a really nasty accusation to make, and completely untrue. I hope you will follow your own advice, and refrain from posting anything about the actions of either foundation club, nor your feelings about saud behaviour in future.
Yeah deadly serious.
This has nothing to do with "the actions of either foundation club"

If your post had been offered up by a Magpies official (like Fallah, Epifania, Luibinskas, Cavanagh etc), or someone of note within the game - then sure it would have been a valid post.

But you picked an offhanded comment by some keyboard nufty as if that somehow represents the Western Subs. club. It was capital "T' tabloid.

Not every comment that doesn't agree with your viewpoint is an attack.
Are you not open to dissenting opinions?
Earlier you dragged me into this argument again by saying I wanted you removed as a moderator, despite the fact that I had said that wasn't true, I just disagreed with your validation of personal insults.

I'll add to that your "liking" of a poster making light of animal cruelty, which was just a touch deplorable.

As humans we are all subject to and should welcome constructive criticism and try to control our automatic reaction, which is to be defensive.

I'll say it again as you chose to ignore it previously, but I consider that you generally do a good job as a moderator. Maybe take a lesson from Demps and be more circumspect in your comments and posts you choose to like.

I love when people who on one hand preach for alternative opinions on here, a privately owned forum. But yet, argue against the democratisation of a public, members based institution in HBG.

The hypocrisy is hilarious.

P.s. I am not saying that opinions on here should be filtered, just pointing out the significant flaws in the argument by some!

The comment that @Suzie-Q shared wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. They’re a dime a dozen. Could only imagine the waffle that’s being said in their FB group. However, they have zero influence. They certainly don’t warrant getting triggered over. I’m more inclined to laugh at them. The chest beating they do regarding the Magpies being owners, having all the power and Balmian having nothing is all a front. The reality is it burns a hole in them that the Magpies don’t receive more recognition. To them, that is everything. They talk a big game, but they are insecure as hell.

If you try and argue someone’s point, try to shame them, they’ll only double down and you won’t get anywhere. If you meet them with mockery though, that will get a different response. Nobody likes being made to feel they are being made a fool out of.

Man, I cringe when you chime in with your whiny posts, what animal cruelty are you referring to, my post was not one of reality about the young magpie.

Dude, you missed your calling, you should of became a priest you give an excellent sermon.

Pretty sure a couple of weeks ago some posters from here were treated to vile and threatening posts by the magpie FB low lives, mild compared to anything that gets thrown up on here.

I did say light hearted. I presume you don't really intend to smash a baby magpie with a broom hopefully.
But if you don't get that joking about animal cruelty isn't on, then I don't know what to tell you.

Ahh weren't you the guy who focussed on the couple of randoms who wore Balmain jerseys at what was clearly pro WTs rally ...

Question 1:
Who was the one man who sacked all 4 independent directors? It wasn't one man...

Question 2:

Did the HBG board vote and pass the motion to sack the directors? Yes

As to whether these peolple speak for the organisation, let's look at the definition of their job title:

- The CEO is the highest ranking executive employee of the group and his role is to execute the strategy set by the board. His comments and actions speak for the entire organisation, that is literally what he is there to do..

- The directors role is to represent its members.. Their entire role to speak on behalf of the members...

Question 3:
So are you suggesting that the HBG CEO and board do not represent its members?

There is no way you can answer this post directly... Doing so means you will have to admit there is an issue with the HBG leadership and board. Can you bring yourself to do that?
Hey @Vicious have you had a chance to think about this yet? I am genuinely interested in your response.

I don’t think that stops you from seeing his posts. I don’t agree with much he says, but I don’t think anything he says is grounds for permanent banning either. I think those sorts of bans should be in place for excessive abuse and/or threats. Not for someone who’s a windbag. He’s very easy to just either put on ignore or skip his posts entirely.
Agree, if someone is putting forward an opinion, no matter how disagreeable than they should not be banned for that...if they are being abusive, racist, intolerant...than punt them for good. Whilst I vehemently disagree with some posters views on HBG and the politics of the WT, i still appreciate their views in other areas.

They've controlled the JV since 2015 (apart from the past 2 seasons). 5x Wests Ashfield/Magpies directors vs 2x independents + 1x Balmain. They've always had the controlling block, and it's because of them the reserve grade team is called Western Suburbs Magpies, and not Wests Tigers.

What the supporters of HBG/Magpies know, and the actual facts, appear far removed for most of them.
You're right but you're wrong.
The prevailing feeling is that the Magpies were too passive in their ownership.
This time around there's a different attitude intent on stamping the Magpies ownership on the club.
The first symbolic step was the football staff meeting the Wests Ashfield staff, which had never happened previously.
They'll never admit it but having the team run around in what is basically a Balmain jersey in '26 was seen as Richo and mates giving the owners the middle finger.
It was by all measures a terrible misjudgement.

You betcha.
There was no point in posting beyond firing up the anti-Western Subs. faction

Surely, given the tragic week we have all endured - unnecessarily inflaming the mob is worth avoiding.
No.

It was to bring attention to the anti-Wests Tigers faction that exists that gets so fired up unless people want to turn WT into the Magpies.

You should be ashamed of yourself using a tragedy like what happened in Bondi to make a weak point about stirring up fan division.

Get a clue mate.

For someone who is not in the know, you seem to be privy to stuff that only someone in the know would know.
