HBG, Independent Directors Sacked

And here’s something that comes from someone who does matter at both Western Subs & Wests Ts (unlike the click bait Suzie posted the other day)

This one is worth posting - although won’t garner much interest here as it doesn’t fit the anti Western Subs narrative 🥴
You're sure Shaun didn't write that it's the same blow smoke up there rubbish, nothing new, more of the same that we all have heard before and they never change.

If they continue on in a year's time max there will be board sackings again, I'm sure of it.
You really are blinded by the love of who you support when it continues to happen right in front of your eyes, wake up.

You might think you're fooling us...
But you cannot fool AI @Vicious

Here are some terms I suggest becoming familiar with:

Dogmatic: Someone who states their beliefs as if they are absolute truths, regardless of facts or counter-arguments. They often rely on "because I said so" logic.

Sophistry: A person using "sophistry" is a sophist. They use clever but false arguments that seem plausible on the surface but crumble when you ask for specific details or facts.
Maybe we can add the following:

Nufty or Nuffy: Australian slang, often meaning silly, foolish, or a bit crazy, especially for overly passionate sports fans, but can also refer to someone with an intellectual disability (offensive). It's context-dependent, but generally describes someone who is a bit over the top or eccentric, particularly in sports fandom, like screaming constantly at AFL.

I think this could also apply to NRL, such as screaming "Magpies" at a Wests Tigers match or someone with a connection to HBG. (possibly both)

Rightly or wrongly it was a power grab due to a number of circumstances that led them to b peed off,
This is the part many people including yourself know is true, but for some reason do not want to acknowledge.
Removing the board members was wrong, but some of the circumstances that led to them making this type of irrational decision were also wrong.
I disagree, in January the HBG tried to walk back the appointment of the independent directors before they appointed. They had to be forced to appoint them.

They then dismissed the chair that caved in on those appointments.

We get to December and they sack the independents.

Its obvious that there are factions at the HBG who didn't want implement the review recommendations. The blood-letting at the HBG in the last 18 months was to dismantle the recommendations from the review.

Garnered my interest
Another nothing piece to avoid the scrutiny. Look over here, look over here, don’t look at the mess we’ve created over there.
Are most of the great things his referring to in regard to what the ‘sacked’ board achieved over their tenure.
Also written by someone knee deep in creating the mess.

Power and control - why can't you get that?

They didn't/ dont support the independent review weeded out the ones that did and now they have control - and tried to spin a story to the gullible that laid blame elsewhere while hiding their true motivation for blowing up the board.
You are with them on this or you are not. Trying to lay blame at those caught in the cross fire is not on.
Just read this after saying thr exact same thing.

You nailing.

Thanks champion @Bus 2 Terrigal - it is a step forward that, I'm sure, everyone here as Wests Tigers fans crave.
Sort of reinforces the message from the now interim CEO for WT, Shaun Mielekamp - straight shooting communication is the key.
The proof is all to come as time goes on.

But, also in passing, I have to say, champion @Bus 2 Terrigal, that you should look elsewhere for a problem with champion @Suzie-Q - this lady is a true one off, and this forum has no better, more sincere, genuine or loyal contributor.

We might all have moments, and this thread has been very emotive. But at the core, anyone here has joined the Wests Tigers Forum - that means all thoughts (within forum rules) are accepted and genuine debate follows etc.
We are all so lucky to be able to listen and learn and share.

And just to finish, between the CEO's message on the Roar, Leo's message above and the inter club conciliatory lunch, I really think it is Christmas - a meeting of minds without agendas and vitriol.

So I join the message too - Happy Christmas and peace to everyone here, keep safe, and wishing a fun season of footy ahead, to the Wests Tigers, to the Wests Magpies, and to the Balmain Tigers too.

Yet only last week he told SMH theyd been at war with WTs for 25 years

Excuse my skepticism...I hope there has been a huge attitude adjustment, the xmas lunch at WA ....now this, hope its sincere

Nothing happened to p them off, they just woke up one morning and decided it was a good day to remove a few people from the board,
Is that more believable?
Yes, because evidently what happened was so bad they attempted to reinstate the board members they gave the flick to 10 days later. It was an obvious takeover by those at HBG who never wanted the Wests Tigers to be independant.

If things were as bad as most of you on here think they are, why would BOF and the other board members agree to return?

I've noticed you're a strong critic of HBG which includes Wests Ashfield and Wests Magpies whether you like it or not, so I've got a question for you that I have asked of two others and not received a reply.

How do 'you' differentiate between following Balmain TIGERS and Wests TIGERS.

To me it seems a big majority of anti-HBG followers would feel they are still following the same team, Balmain.
It seems to me there wouldn't be any psychological difficulty in going from one Tigers team to another Tigers Team either, as compared to changing from Magpies to Tigers.
Also 99% of people on here that refer to our JV team refer to us as TIGERS, not Wests, so the Wests part of our JV name apparently means nothing.
Please explain.
You really just read/hear what you want to don't you?
BOF probably returned to continue the good work that he was doing and to try and make changes.
I am a big critic of HBG, correct.
I differentiate between Balmain Tigers and Wests Tigers the same way I do with Wests Magpies and Wests Tigers. Balmain needs to be rebranded as Wests Tigers from top to bottom. I follow Balmain in the same way that I do the Magpies, as a feeder club to the Wests Tigers that should be rebranded.
Your psychological argument about following Tigers to Tigers is strange when you could also go from Wests to Wests. I don't know why you get so caught up about people calling them the Tigers. You have hang ups that you need to get past.
I am almost 40yo and Wests Tigers started in the comp early in my teenage years. I can barely remember the 2 clubs before the joint venture.
Seriously, move on.
