Sure. If we get a player of value, then that is a fair trade. I just wouldn't let him go for nothing in return.
Exactly. Do people really have memories that short?

Aloiai
Matterson
Moses
Joffa
etc.

All allowed to move on with no replacement sought and our results just got worse year on year.

When Richo refused Lachy’s earlier release requests it was a line in the sand moment.

I feel we should make him play out his contract. At least this year. We are already playing with only 28 of the top 30 and it appears we are going to play with 16 players against 17 on a weekly basis. Where would you get a half for only $250K - $350k of his quality.

Only problem is that there would be a financial cost involved for Bula to rid himself of Isaac Moses and Cove Agency and go with someone else.

Does the club pay that for him if he agrees to the change?

Ideally a swap deal is done for a backrower/centre/lock. No swap deal no early release. If he is part of the best 17 he gets picked, as much as I would love him to rot in reggies.

Keep him, it's only $350k. Everyone knows Moses is behind all this shit and when it backfires, and his client's reputation is shot, and his value goes south by the week, other players might learn a valuable lesson and steer clear of the filthy maggot.
Punters will realise over the next few weeks Galvin is grossly overrated and start to count his errors, rather than blindly drool over his highlights.
He's not in the top 50 try scorers, not in the top 50 line breaks, 42nd in line break assists, 14th line break involvement, in these categories he's behind Luke Brooks. 20th in errors. 25th ineffective tackles.
KOE as soon as Fainu is fit.

Play Latu where possible, if not play Galvin. If he performs badly drop him. If he creates off-field drama drop him.

Do not release him unless an opportunity presents itself, but don't forget we arent paying him big bucks yet and anyone else we would like to pay big bucks from 2027 we cant officially talk to until Nov 1.

The media circus will peter out soon enough.

Makes sense. Agree with your comment.

The best way forward?

Wests Tigers to become a stand alone entity, not a subsidiary or joint venture of previous clubs.

The parties to the merger can maintain their own operations, and administer or form their own teams in lower open grades. At the moment, HBG are using players and staff of Wests Tigers to have a team called Wests Magpies play in the 2nd tier, using Wests Tigers $20m in funds from the NRL and Wests Tigers NRL football club operations and revenues to facilitate this.

Likewise, teams in Jersey Flegg, SG Ball, and Harold Matts are funded and resourced by the NRL $20m funding and NRL football club operations and revenue to play in elite senior and junior competitions. Have one team in each of the junior comps, and Wests Tigers can cover the cost of running these teams without HBG pitiful $1.7m. Consolidate resources, and focus on better development of fewer players.

Wests Tigers Macarthur District Junior Rugby League is administered and funded by Wests Campbelltown. The HBG, Wests Magpies, and Balmain Tigers organisations contribute very little in the grand scheme to Wests Tigers. The NRL club can operate on its own.

It's controversial for some but yeah, alignment across all the grades.

NRL does retro round and heritage round, all that, so a black and white jersey (it will sell like crazy because it is a very aesthetic kit) for heritage round and orange and black for retro round, a nice throwback, or vice versa.

Pay respects to the past but eyes on the future.

It's that type of thinking that will get this thread closed.

I spoke to one of the traffic control guys today on site, he said as a young bloke he bought a Magpies black with white v jersey bcoz he liked it. He was a manly fan, and at the time didn’t understand why his dad was trying to burn it.

I would happily wear an entirely black or white or variations thereof jersey as long as the team was wests tigers...thats coming from an ex balmain supporter. The hang up ppl have about the colours is ridiculous. Only thing the orange has going for it is its distinctive...maybe a good away jersey colour. The whole idea that it has to be the colour of the mascot is a non argument.

It's a clean jersey.

We could always run the black and white for night games and the orange for day games.

There's suitable options to satisfy both fan groups whilst keeping the modern Tigers fan happy and wanting to buy the new gear.

It's going to sell no matter what tbf

My point is, there wouldn’t be separate fan groups, factions of officials, or competing agendas if the Wests Tigers became an independent entity, not a joint venture of the old parties.

It’s been 25 years. The currency is in Wests Tigers. The NRL provides it with its $20m and generates a further $10m in football club revenue which it uses to operate the organisations activities.

It’s a pipe dream at the moment, but that’s my opinion on the best and really, only way forward.
