Every year there are teams that over and under achieve. Funnily enough, we’re usually neither.

Some very wise decisions need to be made over the next 2 years , Going by NRL Tracker.
We start this year with 9 players ,vast majority yet to be classed as consistent 1st grade material open to talks here or elsewhere.
This November is more so of a drama ,13 established 1st graders able to negotiate.

If we are serious our roster should play finals in 26.
Don't think you can't predict that because you can't control incidentals. There is a reason why coaches only look at a game at a time.
The aim is always to make the finals but so is every other clubs - and history shows that other clubs are more successful at that than we are. Alot will go back to depth and strength of rosters systems and football operations some luck - which in our case are always questionable.

Not sure the cap excuse applies to Benji. All we ever heard when Sheens was here was how this was Benji's roster and that he signed off on all recruitment decisions. That includes some of the higher priced releases such as Bateman, Sullivan and Klemmer. The other notable releases I'd argue were on unders, Papallii given what a boon it was when he signed and Galvin and Da Silva still on rookie contracts.
Agree it is not Benji's fault that he was offered an extension, though I certainly don't take him at his word that he will walk away if he doesn't have any success here.
I tend to agree with Tucker that he needed help that wasn't provided. Though I think it remains to be seen whether or not he can coach. We often talk about natural progression with experience in our playing group but I would hope that Marshall is improving far more rapidly as a coach with the added experience.
All things equal, I don't think we have a top 8 squad yet. But I think the 2026 playing squad is the best we've had in potentially over a decade.

Totally agreed.
It only matters if the board is slow to sign, (i.e. the roumers Lee H took a week longer to sign contracts because he read them) but even then people understand.
Can I have that problem... PLEEAZE?

Can't we work out a deal with someone? Surely there is a tiger branded performance enhancing product out there.
I'm not the judge, but why does everybody think fox tel etc will just keep tipping in money .
A sane person wouldn't run the house hold budget throwing money about like there is no consequences in the future.
Bula Bula blah . How many kids have we tried to sign the last 2 years on overpriced contracts.
Maybe the fault is putting to much expectation on them at that value, and they parachute out.
By all means build a future around them, by christ give them all the time learning each other's games together, Confidence goes a long way.

Forget Sheens , people forget Benjie built this roster with youth,and said its a 3 year turn around , well imo he;s starting his /teams 2nd year together. Our roster is very flexible the figures ive seen the next few years
Because their whole business is built around the nrl and afl . All the other stuff from Seinfeld , to the latest Sony movie are just filler to keep you engaged when you arnt watching the football .
It’s the same for Fox sports and espn in the USA , sky with Premier league in the Uk .
All you have to do is cancel your Kayo subscription over the summer months and it’s endless freebies to get you to sign back up.
If the fox /stan/ Netflix/apple/Prime pay overs for the rights they’ll simply jack up the prices of subscription , or the cost of ad space . Of which people will pay .
In my opinion the next TV deal will be spit across multiple platforms and fox might actually be the one left without a musical chair . If Netflix pays exorbitant amount for the Thursday night game to simulcast with 9, and Apple Pay’s for the Saturday games then Stan/9 can claim the Sunday and Friday night games , all paying overs.
The real issue is how much uptick would the streamers who are mostly UsA based , get from the nrl or afl rights .
My guess is Stan/9 a probably paramount/10 , will go in hard for the nrl rights , might even split them , and potentially cut fox out .
Origin and the test matches … well they’ll go to the highest bidder . Origin is basically 3 super bowls, and is usually all 3 gams in the top 5 most watched tv shows every year . They will cost a fortune .

If fox get the chop then good there's bugger all on there without the footy to watch anyway and can give them the flick and toss the satellite dish.
Just hope whoever gets it is not spread over more than 2 channels, don't want to pay ridiculous fees.
Out of Curiosity considering the improvement through out the club in all departments, and getting off the bottom for the first time in years (Even though i expected to do better) what do you think is the reason for them to absolutely throw a grenade and years end and make us a joke of the NRL and cause fans to organise a protest rally.
That's the Holly Grail, too auction off to individuals. Sure contracts have been signed into the near future, but that is no reason to be spending like drunken Soldiers

No excuses. Injuries happen it’s part of the game, that’s why I said our squad should make the finals - it’s the best it’s been.

Our 2005 side wasn't Excellent. Yea they won the grand final.
Things Clicked, Benji's unauthordox playing style combined with an in form Scott Prince.
Had the draw been different and say we did not play the Cowboys twice, we may have lost a game.
Not knocking the guys, they were a rag-tag crew of rejects who got the job done. They were no way Excellent. They beat Excellent when they had too.
Completely agree because without sport Fox would have virtually no subscribers.
