I would think he’s been tailing up Latu from school days in one way or another and had no interest in doing it again here.

I think that would have played some part too. He knows Latu was the better player and he also knew players at the Tigers rated Latu higher.

The Luai sideways stuff can work and does disrupt the defense...however he needs to do it sparingly and he needs players running a line and providing options...its no good when he runs sideways and dummies to players standing flat footed. The shape looked better at the back half of the season so hopefully they have figured things out. Other issue is he tends to revert to that sideways running when the attack breaks down and he is trying to create options...happened way too often last season.

Yeah that's true. As you say, sideways needs players running straight lines as options to turn it inside and hold the inside defenders. Otherwise the defenders just follow him across field.

When he is the only one who knows what he's doing, it doesn't look good. Our other guys need to be aware when this happens and provide him options too.

I have been banging on about this for a while, to have players that play in an unstructured way requires structue for them to play with. It sounds counterintuitive but what you are hitting on is exactly the point. When the runners know where to be and what lines that they should be running the Luai's and Munsters of the game thrive. If players are standing back waiting for shit to happen the play gets snuffed out easily as there are no threats to divide attention and create the indecision required.

To be fair to Jaream, with the board debacle, it's not going to be the same club that he committed to back then. Can't hold him to account with the leadership of the club making us a laughing stock again.

Carlos Alcaraz was the same, scrawny kid and became jacked within the space of 12 months. They have special supplements in Spain.

Well maybe I missed it but I'm yet to see Bula cut down a reasonably quick player in the clear to stop a try or win us a game ala Reece-Walsh and he's not really our junior player. As for it being a distraction here's Pearce-Paul's comment about the HBG fiasco " But despite critics labelling the club a “basket case”, Pearce-Paul said the controversy had no impact on the players and coaching staff.".
Players are used to other players moving on at the end of seasons, happens everywhere every year and it won't be a distraction if we don't let it stop us from signing or elevating his replacement - hell we might even get a fullback who can kick goals consistently well.

With Doueihi starting the season off at number 7 .. being more of a runner with the ball .. he'll start us off going forward. I hope he does well this season .. he needs a bit of luck for once.

Nah mate, that would have been the words that just flowed out of Benji's mouth and KPP just ran with it. These guys all have media training. How often have you heard "has full backing from the board", and then that's reversed weeks later? Can you imagine if KPP said the opposite? It's not an option.

It is well known that I am not a fan of AD as a half; however, if the decision has been made I will simply live with it and trust that he delivers for us. He can't afford to wear the 7 and drift in and out of games on both sides of the pill as he is prone to do. He has talked up a big leadership game - time to deliver young man!

Not the option I would jhave run with nut if he's wearing black, white and gold he has my support. There are plenty here that have faith in hom, and have stated that he is the best 7 we have. I trust that they are right and I eat my hat.
