Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

That kick Andrews executed for the try is similar to the one he put in for a try to win the U19 game for Qld plus he kicked the conversion
He has plenty of talent and skills without the bs associated with Galvin.
The word "kick" is so harsh for what he did.
I prefer "finesse"
It was smoother and silkier than one of those expensive chocolate Mousse desserts.

I think he has played some soccer before with that ball control. My father remembers watching the Hungary v Australia soccer game. Prior to the game, Ferenc Puskas, the great Hungarian striker placed the ball in the middle of the goal line directly under the post and continuously kicked the ball up to rebound from the underside crossbar.

Galvin is all effort and fitness and desire. His skill level is decent but clunky at times.

Latu and Andrews natural talent are in a different hemisphere to Galvin. Both move with class, silky smooth and with pure ease.

I know which 2 youngsters I'd prefer to have

Is left center our problem?

Hellelujah!

Normally I would say it's better to keep the rookie in their chosen position. Just left center is normally more defensive and May would better suit it.
May likes playing on the left to utilise his sharp left foot step and Makasini demonstrated last night how lethal his right hip drop is which best suited when playing on the left.
That being the case I would hope we are trying Skelton at right centre.
What we might lose in way of quick hands we would gain in his size and tackle but ability.
I think a right edge of Doueihi, KPP, Skelton and Turuva looks decent and has plenty of attacking quality about it.

Nothing silly about that. Lachy was an exceptional fullback.
I still maintained he should be in serious consideration for the next round of immortals induction.
I’m surprised he is not already an immortal.
Once in a generation superstar was Darren Lockyer.
OF we had a superstar fullback of that quality we would be serious threat of winning the Premiership as early as this year, but as much as I hope Bula improves and starts to dominate games regularly, I just don’t think he’s got it on him.

Maka should spend 1-2yrs on the wing, leave him outside of May and Luai. We got to stop changing these kids around and we need combinations which lead to reliability & confidence to form.

Toa if we are going to give early ball is fine, if we aren’t then we need someone else. Skelton defensively at center makes me shutter alot more than Toa.

Turuva on the wing under high balls is my biggest concern and has been for ages. I have been a huge supporter of his well before he came here but that’s always been a challenge spot for him & hasn’t improved.

I reckon with our current batch of up and comers if we can hang on to most of them, signings will become only requiring identified gaps. A much better scenario. Then again the issue switches to retention of players we want to keep. I finally think the club is getting in a better situation to compete from. Well done to everyone (hopefully) 👏 👍 😀

Maka is our left winger for the next few years. Leave him and May there to form a devastating combo.

Skelton at centre can even switch with Turuva towards the end of defensive sets or at least offer a tall obstacle to help sunia.
