Couple of questions on a couple of players listed but all in all ok. I'm exasperated by Toa- no idea why WT rushed to re-sign him. Still, team selections are on Benji and he will pass or fail by his own choices. Go WT.

I'm ok with Bunty in cup. I could also accept if he was ahead of Seyfarth or Hunt, but not Sione.
Bunty's play the ball speed looked a little off to me in the trial - i looked for player level stats and couldnt find any so I could be wrong too lol

I get nothing is ever perfect, especially if you’re a tigers fan.

But surely we’re not picking our first choice halfback because he can fill in 2-3 other positions and then putting a bloke on the bench - just because he can fill in his position when he fills in on one of the other blokes positions…

How many other teams are carrying a specialist 7 at first drop?
Waste of a spot.

The 6 man bench changes a lot.

It’s really interesting when you’re really punting on who will finish a game.

I can see Deardon skipping across field drawing in 2 inside defenders with Drinkwater wrapping around killing us out wide. They will do it all day. Could get ugly for the 2 young fellas.

Has it changed, it was at the start development, so he could play 1st grade straight away.

I believe it's gone back to round 12 for development players. The round one thing was only a remnant from COVID. But we may be upgrading Bunty to top 30 depending on how our forwards shape up in the first 6 weeks.

He had a shoulder recon, he was never available for the start of this season

But that’s not the game - the game is pick your best 17 to win and do your best.

It’s not chess.

It’ll be interesting to see which coaches use it best. The luck element really comes in.

Personally I thought our attack remained clunky with AD at 7 in the trial, and maybe Benj has little patience if it’s not fixed.

I don’t think the good coaches would be worrying too much about it at all.

They’re only allowed to use 17 players (more if there’s foul play and someone taken out of the game) same as it was before. The rule hasn’t changed
- just a potential selection pool - that can only be used if something unplanned for comes up.

Seems we’ve gone with our usual arse about approach…
Where we could have a specialist half in 18/19 to ‘crack glass in case of emergency’ we put them in at first drop.

Makasini played most of his juniors at left centre from what I saw. I don't like the idea of breaking up the edge of Luai, Fainu and May. It looked good last season and again in the pre-season. That's where the majority of our points will come from. I also don't like the idea of playing Masi out of position at right centre. Curious to see what happens.

I feel like we will see May stay on the left with LukeL on his wing, and Masi will partner Turuva on the right.

Bunty, I believe, has a development or train and trial contract and so can’t play in the NRL until after round 10.
