Hasn't everyone still got a set on the book shelf gathering dust? I know I do.
Been in the family since I was about 10 years old, parents paid a fortune for them in installments at a time when no one had a lot of money and door to door salesman were always knocking on your door trying to sell stuff.
Tried to give them away to the woman in charge at the local Salvos telling her I don't need them anymore because I've got a Mrs and a couple of kids that know everything already.
She wasn't interested, but managed to have a little chuckle and told me she already had more sets than she knew what to do with.
When it came down to it there was too much sentimental value to just throw them away.

Awesome that he mentioned it, Steve is going to bring him to an Ambush get together and treat him like a Wests Tigers fan for a day. we might even try and get him onto one of the pods to discuss his trip to Leichhardt.

Just saw Read on NRL360 where he dished on Leichhardt as a not-for-purpose oval as sub-standard for modern NRL. Then they showed him sitting in the elevated media area, glassed in with the best view but not even exposed to the sounds, the vibe, the passion ....
Read talks about the hill etc so poorly yet he's never experienced it, never been part of its "life blood" even in the stand, he has never felt the fan fever ...
So he says he knows, will make pronouncements about the state of things - but it's all from a position of exclusivity and snobby privilege - these journos are so removed from what they say they know.
