Queens Park Rangers produced a ruthless display to thrash struggling Portsmouth 6-1 at Loftus Road.

The hosts raced into a three-goal lead inside 29 minutes through a Paul Smyth double, scored either side of a long-range effort from Rayan Kolli.

Portsmouth pulled one back before the break through John Swift, but Kolli struck again early in the second half with Richard Kone then converting a penalty in the final five minutes of normal time.

Kone became the third Rangers player to score twice when he finished off a counter-attack two minutes later to compound Pompey's plight in west London.

Newcastle Jets re-assert league dominance amid Late drama

Newcastle have restored their four point lead at the top of the Isuzu UTE A-League table after Ben Gibson’s stoppage time winner saw them leave Allianz Stadium with a 2-1 victory over Sydney FC.

Gibson’s winner came after Tiago Quintal’s 68th minute striker had cancelled out Kota Mizunuma’s opener, with the goals coming amid a flurry of chances for both side — there were 30 shots in total across the duration of the match.

Not only does this result give Newcastle a four point gap over second-placed Auckland FC, it drops Sydney FC down to fifth behind Melbourne Victory and Adelaide United – but five points clear of Macarthur FC in sixth.

Nottingham Forest prove too good for Spurs with a 3 -nil win away as the home team's disastrous home record this season continues
  • Forest move above Tottenham into 16th, three points clear of drop zone
  • Igor Jesus heads Forest in front just before half-time
  • Morgan Gibbs-White adds a second and substitute Taiwo Awoniyi wraps up win
  • Spurs just a point above the relegation zone and yet to win a league game in 2026

Spurs 0 Forest 3, another day, another crushing home defeat . What to say ?
We’ll have the best stadium in the Championship next season !!!
Come on Ye Spurs

It's an awful feeling champion @Halbrowne61.
Just feel the same for @happy_tiger and @Bellend too in their support of Wests Ham'
The thought of relegation is horrible.
Still 7 matches to go for everyone, so who knows - where there's hope, there's maybe a chance.
