LIVE GAME Round 5 versus Eels

Live Game Discussion
I never understand the argument that injury shouldn't come into it. Of course it should. If a player is injured by someone doing an illegal action then that has to be taken into account. Luke tackling him in the air was yet another brain-dead decision by him and it nearly cost us the game. If he waits until he lands on the ground he doesn't dislocate his ankle. Yes its unfortunate such a minor illegal action results in 10 in the bin, but it was illegal and it dislocated an ankle. Its the reason they have the rule.

To those who say the same thing happens every week and is just a penalty I say.....if I punch you in the face, im charged with assault....if I punch you in the face and you die, im charged with murder or manslaughter....the exact same action but very different outcomes.

Bottom line is, dont do a stupid play to allow the officials to make that decision.

knew he was gonna get sent off as soon as it happened
didnt think it deserved it though i mean if there was no injury play on
people on discord was saying it was a profession foul and he was trying to stop him from scoring i think it was just instinct
Of course it was and that's why he got upset. As I've already said, it's a penalty. Nothing more. Bad luck Simmonson was injured. Is every tackle in the air a sin bin now? Were the clubs told this? Klein changed the rule like he did with that soft whistle, escort penalty in the Cowboys game years back. Klein is a serial cheat. How he's been rated top ref is totally beyond me. End of rant.

Do you think he gets suspended ??

what I loved was the 10 min before halftime and before the sin bin in the second half, all defensive work was strong in first contact and pushing them back 1 metre in every tackle. We were strangling them. We didn’t adjust after the sin bin and didn’t keep possession, but they took their opportunities.
Wins a win!

That is not the same thing at all.
You are comparing an illegal sporting act to an unlawful act in society. The one in society has the mandate to raise the punishment according to outcome as the ramifications are far more serious.
If he took his legs out and he landed head first, you’d have a case.
This was unlucky.

No suprise to me to read you dribble shit. Luke had nothing but eyes for the ball, arms out to try to catch the ball. Came out short and didn't get there. In come King Sirro with a machete to cut off his arms coz where were they meant to go? He didn't bend over and grab his ankle twist it so that it would fall to the ground and do what happened to him in a contact sport. You are DRIBBLE.

It does get a little messy when talking about suspension. Its on the scale of quite innocent intent, going up for the ball then tackling the player, so I would say no. The intent of trying to smash someone and hitting them high is very different. You cant penalise the offending player the length of time a player is injured (although i did argue thats what should happen to McLean when he broke McKinnons neck as i believed him reaching down and grabbing between his legs and lifting was a very deliberate illegal action that resulted in a guy never walking again.)

Yep

The slow start will come back to haunt us one game, after the first 15 minutes we looked like we were gonna lose 30+ but somehow switched momentum.

Up until about the 60th minute mark it felt like we really should have been putting Parra away but the unlucky sin bin made the game a lot closer.. heart attack stuff

The extent of punishment is different due to what you highlight, but it still should have some bearing in the sporting arena.

It worries me also but shows tenacity which we have lacked for years
