LIVE GAME Round 5 versus Eels

Live Game Discussion
Moses is in the referees ear all game
I just can't understand the ref copping all that crap from Moses, tell him to p*ss off and shut up or penalise him for dissent.

I thought you couldn't make contact with a referee, Moses has patted him on the back at least twice during this game that I have noticed, possibly more, that's worth 6 weeks on the sideline for each offence and I'm giving him a discount for the multiple milking offences.

Get off and don't bother coming back before round 17 ya' whining sook.

Watching the highlights now.

It’s crazy they were 10-nil up in the first half, had a fresh set of six right on our try line and Pezet kicked it dead on tackle 2.

It completely changed momentum in the first half.

They lost a player to a HIA, one minute later. Then we scored our first and second try soon after
Yes spot on. There were two large turning points in that game. Pezet’s brain fart got us back into the game. The sinbin got them back into it.
Apart from that it was a good armwrestle in front of a very loud crowd.
Enjoyable Monday.

So happy that we got the win but absolutely filthy that Moses was allowed to carry on like a 10 year old kid dobbing to the teacher. He was up in the ref’s face all game and literally touched the ref 3 or 4 times& don’t start me on his academy award milking. The NRL really has to act on his rubbish behaviour.
That’s Moses. He does that all the time. A grade cat.

Pezet is so overrated

We will miss him. Hopefully a holiday in WA. I've been on holiday in WA since 2005. Watched the GF on a large screen at the North Beach rugby league club. Yes Sirro our game lives in WA.

You need time stop obsessing over me mate. Today is the first time ive noticed you....with good reason obviously

That is not the same thing at all.
You are comparing an illegal sporting act to an unlawful act in society. The one in society has the mandate to raise the punishment according to outcome as the ramifications are far more serious.
If he took his legs out and he landed head first, you’d have a case.
This was unlucky.
100% it was just an awkward landing, if it was a malicious act i get the sin binning, if you watch the incident Luke actaully lets go when they hit the ground as he realises the guy has come down awkwardly. He only had eyes for the ball so it was in no way intentional, just a reflex action.

In short yes. If you do a hip drop and injure a player you should be binned. Obviously there are varying issues to consider like players faking and how avoidable was the action. So common sense, like in everything, should be used.

Your Moses point doesn't apply here as the circumstances around that incident are completely different. Luke deliberately tackled him in the air, Sam's hand was basically ground level and Mitch fell into it. Not much he could do there.

My example of the punch to the face is deliberately an extreme example to highlight why injuries should come into consideration when deciding punishment for a deliberate illegal act. The example is to simply highlight a deliberate illegal act has very different outcomes depending on the damage it does.
I respect your point of view Sirro and it's ok to disagree but I'm not sure Luke did deliberately tackle Simmonson in the air. It was involuntary. A dangerous action potentially but not deliberate.

The send off/ sin bin was not warranted. It's a penalty every day of the week, nothing else. Whether Simmonson was injured or not is irrelevant. It completely changed the game and probably robbed us of a chance to win convincingly. It's these sort of inconsistent/ corrupt decisions that are a blight on the game and often seem to hound the Tigers.
To be fair, when the Parra centre had his head clash with Maka, it was a penalty to us for “no duty of care”. Not a sin bin though!

Just watched the presser. Have to say, Api looks far more comfortable these days. The first couple years here was here, watching him in those things, he looked miserable and hating life. Happy for him.
Still require leadership from him on the field.
His opposite captain dictated how the game went on a couple of occasions, consistently in the refs ear.

I can see that argument on this incident. I do believe he originally went up for the ball, but needs to be smarter and not change to tackling once he cant get the ball.

On the flipside, I’ve never seen a player whinge at a presser. Plenty of coaches, but not players. That’s until ol Mitch turned up tonight. How can there be anyone more unlikable in the game? Some might say Walsh, but he’s just an arrogant twat at times, but he backs at up. This other cat does nothing, has the media in his pocket and cry’s non stop. Not one single redeeming thing about this little prick.
