Just when I thought Spurs were home they stagger to a 2-2 draw. Not what’s needed at this time of the season.
But they seemed somewhat improved and did go 2-1 ahead. And the Brighton goal came right at the nd. Damn !
Come on ye Spurs !!

Manchester United took a massive stride towards securing a return to the Champions League as Matheus Cunha's first-half goal proved enough to beat out-of-form Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea's own hopes of a place at European club football's top table are in peril as they suffered a fourth Premier League defeat in a row for only the second time this century and were jeered off at the final whistle.

Spurs and Brighton finish 2 all, but the drama for Spurs continues ......
  • Pedro Porro heads in opener for relegation-threatened Tottenham
  • Kaoru Mitoma volleys in stunning equaliser for visitors
  • Xavi Simons puts Spurs on course for victory before Georginio Rutter's late leveller

Tottenham's hopes of achieving Premier League survival were dealt a devastating late blow as Georginio Rutter scored a 95th-minute equaliser for European hopefuls Brighton.

Spurs appeared on course to end their desperate winless league run, which extended to a 15th match, and move out of the bottom three when Xavi Simons curled in with 13 minutes remaining.

Instead, Roberto de Zerbi's side remain one point from safety with just five games remaining - and their situation could yet worsen over the coming days with relegation rivals Nottingham Forest and West Ham yet to play, after Leeds United earlier distanced themselves from trouble.

This is rare.
Heaps of 'keepers go forward to try and help their teams salvage a goal against the odds.
And then it happens!

Exeter goalkeeper Jack Bycroft scored a sensational equaliser deep into stoppage time to salvage a point for his side in a six-goal thriller with EFL League One play-off hopefuls Stockport.

The 24-year-old shot-stopper went forward and powered home a brilliant header from Danny Andrew's corner to keep alive Exeter's survival hopes – as well as sparking celebrations for Cardiff, who were promoted when Stockport dropped points.

Great to know it sometimes comes off .........

Can you someone please clarify if Lee H, and Justin P are involved with the Newcastle A League organisation ?
I vaguely remember seeing something quite a while back and wondered if it was true, and are they still involved ?

Ipswich Town score late penalty to draw their match 2 all with Middlesbrough.

Ipswich Town moved back into second place in the Championship as they snatched a point with a controversial late penalty in a tension-filled showdown against rivals Middlesbrough, who saw their own hopes of claiming automatic promotion suffer a body blow.

With Millwall having gone into second spot on Saturday by beating QPR and Southampton continuing their late challenge with a dramatic victory at Swansea, both sides knew only a victory would prevent handing a further incentive to their rivals.

Having dominated the opening stages, Ipswich found themselves behind as David Strelec tapped in from close range but Boro's lead lasted less than five minutes as Ivan Azon and Kasey McAteer combined for the latter to level matters.

A rejuvenated Middlesbrough took control of the second half and were deservedly back in front when Tommy Conway rolled the ball in from two yards.

But, with time running out, George Hirst was ruled to have been pulled back by Boro defender Adilson Malanda and Jack Clarke smacked home the resultant penalty.

What a thriller - each team looked to have won, but then .....

Tammy Abraham scored a 93rd-minute winner to help Aston Villa boost their Champions League qualification hopes with a thrilling 4-3 win over Sunderland.

Villa were about to lose ground in the top-five race having had a 3-1 lead wiped out in 58 seconds just before the 90th minute.

But Abraham got on to the end of fellow substitute Lucas Digne's low curling cross and deflected the ball into the net off his shin.

The result meant Villa remained fourth in the Premier League table and stretched their lead over sixth-placed Chelsea to 10 points with just 15 left to play for.

Morgan Gibbs-White's hat-trick takes Nottingham Forest five points clear of the relegation zone as they defeat Burnley 4-1, coming back from being down 0-1 at half time.

Morgan Gibbs-White's hat-trick fired Nottingham Forest closer to safety and left Burnley on the brink of Premier League relegation.

The England international's second-half treble - and Igor Jesus' late strike - lifted Forest five points clear of the drop zone after their first home league win since December.

Second-to-bottom Burnley are 12 points from safety with five games left and will be relegated if West Ham beat Crystal Palace on Monday and they fail to win against Manchester City on Wednesday.

Forest's victory also compounded Tottenham's relegation fears after their dramatic 2-2 draw with Brighton on Saturday, with Spurs 18th and a point behind West Ham having played a game more.

  • Rayan Cherki gives Manchester City lead with brilliant solo effort
  • Kai Havertz equalises 107 seconds later after Gianluiga Donnarumma mistake
  • Erling Haaland scores winner from close range

Manchester City closed in ominously on Premier League leaders Arsenal with victory in a thrilling encounter at Etihad Stadium.

Erling Haaland's second-half strike proved decisive on an afternoon of gripping tension to leave City only three points behind Arsenal with a game in hand.

In a game where both sides created big opportunities, Rayan Cherki, who had already hit a post, showed supreme footwork and skill in a tight penalty area to put City ahead.

Arsenal equalised only 107 seconds later when City keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma hesitated before striking a panic-stricken clearance in off the incoming Kai Havertz.

Haaland struck a post for City after the break, while Eberechi Eze did likewise and Donnarumma saved crucially from Havertz before Haaland swooped in trademark fashion from close range to put Pep Guardiola's side back in front.

Defender Gabriel saw a header deflected on to a post as Arsenal tried to respond, with Havertz missing a glorious headed chance before City closed out a win as they continue to reel in the Gunners.
