Experience at Campbelltown

You said we need and deserve a new stadium like Commbank at Campbelltown .. Im saying that’s not going to happen
Why not? It is a community ground co-tentanted with another professional sporting team who is committed to the ground full time.

These, and the expected population explosions in the area that underpin the increased housing plans, are largely the same conditions that saw Commbank built with State & Federal funding.

There is a lot to be said for throwing your local member out every 2nd election.

Don’t tell me ..tell the State and Federal Governments…

Let me know the response…

The Tigers just went cap in hand a year ago for the upgrades of the two grounds and got a lot short of a new 30k stadium

I was in great seat in the grand stand.

My wife and kids were with the player families.
im a gold membership at all 3 grounds (commbank looking into sun) that is about $720 for an adult and $610 for a junior
Not cheap but if you go to all games it works out pretty good at around $65 a seat as opposed to $100 a seat.

Not easy to get a well covered seat at LO or CSS now....maybe 30 or 40% of those stands are completely dry in wet weather and sitting in the rain watching the footy my fanatacism levels arent quite there
and leichardt building a stand with no roof, not very appealing
I dont generally take the family if it is a wet game

They have been lucky of late with the weather at Leichhardt games …and the forecast looks good for Thursday …

It’s a miserable experience in the wet …

The no roof update for the proposed new stand is a disappointment, down grading an already modest proposal

Parra did well getting a new 30K stadium. We should aim for one at Campbelltown. Long term it make sense. Do you think we would fill at 30K stadium at Campbelltown? Looking at the crowd numbers for Parra Stadium they got 29K against the WTs, 14K against the Titian, 25K against the Dogs.

The problem with an investment like that is the bulk of the games are then played there and that isnt fair to those with the affiliation to leichardt oval.

In a perfect world we have a stadium between both venues, which unfortunately probably then sits in bulldogs territory

Either one of leichardt or Campbelltown are likely to be fd over one day..

Firstly - Parra gets a massive leg up with that stadium, and the Roosters with theirs …. Unfair in some ways ..but that’s the way it is ..

I’d love to see a 30k stadium at Campbelltown …but I think it’s unlikely there would be government money coming to those levels certainly within the next say 15 years … could we fill it ? Yes if they had a sustained run of success and built a culture of people in the area going to games

With that quality of facility I think we would and should embrace Campbelltown.

It's so easy to get to doen the M5 M7 or train

Cambo needs a Parra type build with multi level car park .
28 k stadium
Brand new to cover good food ,bars , covered seating , footy in the rain just ain fun and shit food doesn’t sit well with me, still have pies , hotdogs , burgers , chips , but just add that bit of extra quality , chicken pieces , thick bbq sausages on rolls with onion , noodle bowl , stir fry , quick and easy and can all be cooked in advance so service is fast

Just frigin stupid, I get when the prices get blown out. But drop the multi-storey car park outside and fix the grandstand.

I also would join the two stands, otherwise u have wasted/dead space.

Join the concourse seating to the stands with walkway underneath.

These points optimises space and increases seating significantly, win win. Also don’t reckon it would cost that much more. The grandstand might but the concourse wouldn’t.

In theory yeah, but im emotionally tied to leichardt and the inner west.

Look, its a labour government blow money by the billions. So maybe we should just turn leichardt into a variation of commbank with the hill and CS just a clone of commbank

6 games a year at both venues.

Everyone's happy

It just needs one big MF stand. That's it. Not a stadium, 1 GRANDstand for the prawn sandwich brigade in (proper) corporate boxes, and then covered safe standing or a hill for the punters. You can put in the initial main stand and always expand around it if you want. Easy as. That would suit the area better than an all seater stadium. Facillites (aka toilets), are the big challenge for any rebuild at ctown. Get rid of that pathetic Alf Dugid stand.

The stadium's 90s redevelopment was kind of diluted by the Sydney Olympics. There was a LOT of money put into the redevelopment of 'Orana park', but half of it went into the athletics track next to the footy ground and not the footy ground. And to be fair it was great for the area, it was unreal to have a school athletics carnival on a fully fledged, competition standard athletics track, after running on a paddock with ropes up until then.
