The Cambo Curse

We haven't made the finals for 15 years and that isn't because of stadia. Our records are abysmal in general. It's like comparing a sh1t sandwich to a giant douche. It's what losers do. The first season we stopped playing at either ground full time we won the comp. The first season we added more games back again we won the wooden spoon. So shut up if you think locations make the difference.

We have lost marginally more games at Ctown, but we have terrible winning percentage at both grounds anyway, and any true fan of our club knows we have choked the big occasions way harder at Leichhardt than anywhere else. Titans and Warriors there. Nearly every season we've finished 9th usually includes a late season failure at home to a packed out LO. Even last year it was the same.

LO is a unique ground and an occasion that beats 90% of ALL Sydney match day experiences. It's better than Shark Park. It's better than WIN stadium, It's better than Homebush. But a lot of that has to do with the incredible inner west pubs you can get to before and after a game, fair enough.

It's not just better than Campbelltown, its better than most places. Thats fine, just leave the westies alone.
Not sure what you call "marginal", but the difference in winning percentage is +15% in favour of Leichhardt all time (40% vs 55%).

Since 2020, we have only won 15% of games at Campbelltown vs 50% at Leichhardt (52% after tonight).

People say this stuff because they are observing reality.

How this discussion turns into a Balmain v Wests thing or a bashing westies thing confuses me. People are just noticing a large deviation from the norm. The disparity exists whether you want to believe it or not....let's understand why it exists because every home game next year will be played at Campbelltown and the club has decided to load more games at Campbo in the future so we'd better turn that around fast.

What norm??

We've been awful since 2020 years for reasons more profound than stadia. 52 percent still sucks for a home record. If it was in the mid 70s like Brookvale you might have some substance to your argument.

In an era of Lee, Pascoe, Denny, Romero, Debentures, News Corp, Madge, Nofo, Bateman, Brooks, Galvin -- do you really want to shift blame to the oldest and most banal debate on this forum. I thought you were smarter than that?

But yea, you're right. It's the stadiums that are to blame. Not pathways, fitness, the board, the corporate governance, culture, the coach, leaking, infighting, HBG or sticking to a plan. Let's make this strictly about where we play, without any context or intelligent analysis.

Congratulations, you've passed the HBG IQ test. Please collect your debenture and proceed to contribute some more bright intelligent ideas for how we make decisions as a club and who gets sacked next.

What a pathetic thread.
We can celebrate another win or come on here and debate the vibe of our two home grounds that are both attracting sellout crowds.
Some of you need to really move on and let your mind accept that we belong in both.
As I said on another thread there are people on here who really don't deserve a winning team.

They have won 5 of their last 6 at LO ..that’s a great record for us

Hey I'm not bagging Leichhardt! or us winning... fek that.

Just not accepting the concept that stadiums make us win or lose.

Terrell had his best stats in a tigers jersey against the broncos last week. Makasini had a tough time. Adam Reynolds put in an elite, world class performance. None of that gets factored into history when derricks count up the stats. 60% of the fans that went to ctown to see the broncs went to see us at LO, its mostly the same humans.

We are going to have to start winning at Campbelltown as we will not be playing at Leichhardt next season.

I suspect we will play at least 6-7 games there in 2027.

Yes I generally agree …

They are winning this year because they have a better team and the coach seems to have improved noticeably as well..

I want to see them win at all grounds because they are only gunna play 3-4 games a year at LO … it’s up to the players and coach at the end of the day …not the bums watching

Or the Alf Dugid / Keith Barnes grandstands.

1.5 games more per year... anyone can make.it look better or worrse

As someone else mentioned...i think its sad some are still talkin lo VERSUS css

Same.old.posters revelling in this year in year out

Leichhardt v Campbelltown isn't a Balmain v Wests debate. Plainly looking at stats, which don't lie, we're a significantly better team there. 17% winning percentage difference over hundreds of games and 25 years isn't a coincidence or fluke.

If we were a half-decent side, Leichhardt would be a fortress. 6 games a year there and we'd be guaranteeing 4, if not 5 wins. Can't say same about Cambo sadly.

Once upon a time... there was a period when only 3 games a season were played at Campbelltown. Titans, Warriors and Canberra. And naturally, our winning percentage, when measured in such an idiotic fashion...., were actually better at Campbelltown than anywhere else we played for ages. Guess what, when the club was being run properly, we won heaps of games, everywhere...

The streak finished somewhat when a certain local lad injured his hip in 2011.
Just in case you forgot our club hasn't made the finals since then.

The stats, like most raw stats, actually do lie.... Go and look at all the seasons we finished 9th, and look at all those late season must win games we've lost at LO.

We are the same team no matter where we play. Only fools think otherwise.

I knew someone would jump up and say it's only 1.5 games a year...It's the stats and they are real...you turned it into some other thing in your own mind.
