OFFICIAL Jarome Luai - #295

I really like what I saw from the Tigers this year, when we played without Luai.

Jock has returned and has shown to be a really balanced footballer that strengthens our team.

I'm a big fan of what the Fainu bros bring to the squad. Latu looks like a fantastic talent. We need to find a place for him in the team.

Then we've got the kid, Javon Andrews, who could be anything.

These guys are all much younger than Luai and have a higher ceiling.

I really wish the club would be upfront with clauses when announcing players. The press release was emphatic that he had signed for 5 years. No mention of any clauses. Clubs shouldn’t be allowed to mislead like that.
Totally agree, it should have been questioned harder and not made out to be a five year contract, when it fact it was a year to year gig. These types of contracts should never been allowed at the club again even if it costs a player or two, they need to make a stand.

Totally agree, he has been great for the culture but he is replaceable at a fraction of the cost. He has done his job but Benji has them clicking.

I'd be surprised if the club hasn't known about this for some time. Deals of this magnitude and the reception he received aren't put together overnight. I also believe the NRL wanted this to happen to give the Chiefs credibility.

The most deflating thing about the Luai exit is that it just confirms what we already suspected: it’s all about $$$. The club, the jersey, the fans — none of it really matters in the end. We’re just pawns paying our money while others treat the jersey like a temporary work uniform. True, but depressing.
I’m really disappointed in him. I thought he was here for 5 years , we were looking after hiim , and he has just dumped us for tax free $ .. I thought he was different than that .. still want him to succeed, wish him all the best , but am really disappointed that yet again we are a transit lounge ..

It’s two years away and good luck too him should he go. I can see why they would chase him and if he agrees it will most likely be announced quickly as PNG will hope to boost recruitment on the back of it.

No disruption to us that’s still this year and next with quality coming through, learning from an experienced half.

Don't talk to me you went MIA in the I'm not convinced thread
You can look at it that way.

It's not easy to post a thread like that - I can't win I can't lose. Each way - ask Ink Give me something cause at least I didn't go missing for 15 years like our team. I just wanted time - cause I'm still not convinced. I never went MIA. I went MAMA.

There is absolutely no way anyone could begrudge him for earning double elsewhere at 31 years old

I just hope it doesn’t derail our season, we lock up Tito, May’s and Fainu’s and that we are able to continue to build

That puts the AD to lock argument to bed, Javon and Latu will fight it out for the vacant jersey in the long term

Everyone needs to chill for a second, we havent won the thing yet, not even close, weve got people banging on here like we have the same tier team like the 1992 Dream Team after round 8. By the end of 2027 it might be a blessing if the squad gets some movement in it if they have had 3 years as a team and done jack shit....or maybe we win it this year and next year?

To HELL with the NRL .. how about helping the tigers with credibility by at least making sure we have owners that want us to succeed instead of the pack of wankers that cruel the Wests Tigers every chance they get
