It’s only 10 years , and there’s fixed mandate of percentage of squad allocated png players … the ultimate goal is star PNG players playing for thier home town club . This is a moment in time . Come 2038 , it’s over a the gravy train stops . If they stack thier side full of Aussies for 10 years and sweep the comp , that would kill off the team after 2038 , because everyone will be leaving .Wait till the realization of PNG hits,
600ml from the Australian government,
For there start up glorybox.
Then the Chiefs will purchase players from us on tax free contracts, Giving them all our top players.
Within 5 years they will win first Grand Final
And they will keep winning every year after that.
THE NRL HAVE IN MY OPINION HAVE SIGNED THE GAME OVER TO PNG,
NO AUSTRALIAN BASED NRL TEAM WILL BE ABLE TO COMPETE WITH THE CHIEFS TAX FREE OFFER,
THE SALARY CAP WONT REALLY BOTHER THEM COMPAIRED TO US.
I HOPE I AM WRONG.
Latu is the replacement with AD and Jacob off the bench . Thats the future , until Javon replaces AD.We can sit back till November, there’s no rush. We do need to replace him though. Anyone who thinks Madden is the replacement because he’s had two or three games is delusional.
That’s your perspective. Being an elite athlete is shit regardless to many. The trainings The rehab. The diets. The discipline.Shit lifestyle though besides the money what's the appeal?
If I'm in my 20s I would be more interested in lifestyle and winning premierships, money isn't the be all and end all for every player.
I’d go as far as thinking Batman actually run it by Benji and was given his blessing especially with the backup we currently have.Just got home from fishing and seen the Luai news.
Thinking that this could be the catalyst for some extensions now that the club knows what money is available.
Makes you wonder if Benji knew of this possibility considering his relationship with Luai.
I had the option in my early twenties to work on the UAE fur good money. But being a Muslim country wasn’t conducive for a single guy, so I didn’t take up the option. Lifestyle over money!Shit lifestyle though besides the money what's the appeal?

I think they are going for Culture, attitude and training.I would also imagine that if Laui joins and the team starts losing games while he under delivers on the field like he did for us last year, the reaction would be pretty intense. Anyone that goes over there as the "main man" will have a fair bit of pressure on their shoulders.
The way the PNG PM framed it was that its great that such a high profile player is showing an "interest" in the Chiefs....not wants to come on board....could be clutching at straws however it was not a really confident statement of Luai's intent. My understanding is that there is a young fella in PNG that has wraps on him to play 5/8 so what they really need is a organizing 7....Luai aint that.
Dude, don't scare us like this.Reality is, the more successful we are, the more popular our players will be.
This is where the development of players becomes key.
Luai, the May brothers, Turuva...let's say we lose all 4.
Bloke can certainly sniff out a week offbateman has been in Canberra catching up with family apparently he was given leave for a family matter
9amWhat times jaromes presser?
I would assume he would have run it by Benji.Just got home from fishing and seen the Luai news.

When I was living up there paying income tax was an 'optional extra'. So much of things was a cash industry. Govt only really got its income through mining and other resource industries. I left there after 3 years with the hope that as the middle class expands, the ability to apply / force the wantok system on people will lessen. They sure do love the NRL up there but as long as the NRL as a whole ensures corruption can't get into the financial governance and system of the club i have hope it will be a success. The only problem is it is only the players who are getting tax free money, nobody else.

We should get more, if teams lose players they should be compensated per player. We all got $4m
We will know for sure in 3 weeksI would like to think Luai has been discussing this with Benji a while … im hoping a few of the senior players have know for a bit too… if that’s the case , it certainly hasn’t been affecting their form
Of course.clubs will be losing players they arent going to be a new team full of.locals....$4m covers a few playersWe should get more, if teams lose players they should be compensated per player.
