An interesting question from now is how much latitude does WT give Luai in promoting and running around doing Port Moresby club things inc recruitment activity (and he will be, he is a marque signing) vs WT stuff. Also as a side note do we have a similar issue as with Cameron Ciraldo 'not poaching any Penrith players once he signed with Bulldogs'? Are we asking any protection from poaching players via Luai's word in ear?

The point wasn't where he would go more to the point he indicated he would happily chase the money, more power to him at least he's honest about it.

Why would he be doing anything for PNG while contracted to us?
Did he promote us or recruit for us while still contracted at Penrith despite signing for us in late 23?
Surely thats a conflict of interest and Id think JL is professional enough not to even think of this

We will see. No doubt things will be done professionally and honourably as I trust Luai but a new club starting up and requiring players to sign on he will be being asked. Just my opinion. 🙂

There could be a possibility of WT and Luai and PNG talking about releasing him early- mid 2027 if it suits WT and we have his position fillable from within existing squad and he and PNG want to concentrate on getting ready for 2028. It would not be the end of the world

I think the contract says the Australian government can pull future funding at any time during the ten year period. In case of fraud, Chinese involvement etc I suspect.

Mate, all Im saying is next season may be very fluid on the Luai front. If WT have the replacement for him already on roster there must be thought on an earlier shift, if the situation is there. Saving some or all of $1.2m or thereabouts in 2027 is nothing to sneeze at.
