Off-field signing/appointment in DT:

WESTS TIGERS PROMOTE PREMIERSHIP WINNER

Wests Tigers premiership winner Pat Richards has been promoted to become the club’s senior NRL manager – which is essentially the acting head of football.

Richards has stepped up into the role given former head of football Shaun Mielekamp is now chief executive. While he has done a good job since taking over from Shane Richardson, Mielekamp has not yet been announced as permanent boss.

Richards coached the Western Suburbs Harold Matthews side this year having previously been involved in mentoring outside backs in the club’s pathways programs.

well done HBG... lol
great player

I’m glad SM called Terrell’s manager an hour after luai conference this morning lol.

Sean : “Hey we’d really like to talk
About that extension Terrell’s been asking for since December last year”

Agent : “add $250k on top, plus 4 yr deal, plus player options every year, thanks… byeeee… oh sorry you there? And same for my brother”

My perception is that most here don’t like him … he isn’t a patch on your man Richo… but then not many are
I would say that most here are supportive of him and the great job he's done so far in very challenging circumstances.

He has the runs on the board, he deserves the full time gig and some time, we're definitely not going to be able to find anyone better either

I had a mate who lived in Port moresby for a fair few years. He said he never felt safe there and his life was constantly in danger.

I remember one story he told me, where there were riots going on in Port moresby, and there were rioters trying to scale over the walls in the compound he lived in. He probably would have been killed if there weren't armed security guards shooting at the people trying to get in.

I don't think any amount of money would interest me in living life like that.

Living out of a suitcase gets pretty tired after a while. How long do you live in a compound being bussed in and out? In any case the idea is going to be to have mostly PNG guys. They’ll get Alex Johnston unless their ridiculous hissy hit stymies that. I doubt we’ll see the mass exodus some fear. Port Moresby is a significant downgrade from Sydney. Forget going out for dinner or grabbing a coffee.

Yeah having families there will last only a few weeks before they return home. Itl be a FIFO type lifestyle.

And the Prime Minister showing his affection for the players the first thing they Mafia up there will do is go for a kidnapping of two of NRL families

Can u imagine a compound with families and a bunch of single 20 year olds just hanging out all season??
Ahh nah..
Id think the young guys will struggle. Will be limited girls around during a prime part of their life. The families may do a little better, but id worry for my kids being stuck in a compound.
