Bleak times ahead..?

To be honest - I'd rather play bulldogs full strength. Critta - he playing Origin? Team picked already?

You mean you would rather face a bulldogs side with arguably the best center in the game?

I only like watching that to see Critta wonder why LG gets the ball to run the same simple line...

It’s not that they don’t care, it’s that they’re not first graders. You can’t expect them to play to a first graders standard. You can put it down to the recruitment or coaching team but not the players, if they could go toe to toe with first graders in consecutive weeks like Mason, Hope and Geyer have been asked to do then they would find another club where they could start at. It’s just poor timing
These guys are all professional footballers. They make their living playing this sport.
There are a set of basics to this game that our blokes just can’t do on occasion.
Forget about the excuses of them not being first graders…catching balls, chasing kicks, making tackles and abiding by the rules are skills required and worked on ever since they first laced up a boot. These skills are required in EVERY grade. Sure their impact won’t be the same as the regulars and fair enough, but their incompetent application of the fundamentals should be criticised.

I totally disagree on that fact. It was a desperate try saver and didn’t deserve such harsh punishment. The game has softened on hip drops since that night too.

You’re entitled to disagree.
I do disagree.
He is a serial offender who uses this tackle a lot. He gets pinged for it multiple times per year to varying degrees of severity.
The bloke is too stupid to learn from his mistakes and this time it has cost us a lot.
I think he should have the captaincy stripped from him. He isn’t a leaders arsehole.

What if they are on the pipe? From time to time.
Are they still professional?
In your mind?

I think from time to time you have a lapse if judgement as a result of our team losing. But don't be throwing at us man. We are in the same team. And you are a good heart.
What’s my lapse in judgement?
Not joining the herd lining up to blame the refs in a pathetically misguided attempt to analyse why the club is playing so poorly?

The game has changed. Just like for Adrian Morley, you either change your technique or you get suspended out of the game.

For the record I don’t agree with the OP that we have bleak times ahead.
I tipped us to make the 8 with confidence this preseason.
I’m a bit annoyed that the second stringers are not as advanced as I would have liked but our full strength side can bang with the best of them.
We are learning a clear lesson at the moment though and I really expect that the club is working on finding replacements for some of these guys who just don’t have it.

Firstly we need another hooker. Tristan Hopeless just doesn't have it. His decision making is wrong, he runs at the wrong times, his service is average to poor, and we just look like a worse team when he is at dummy half.

If you ever get to watch him live have a look at what he puts himself through in the middle. He puts his head where most wouldn’t dangle their toes, over and over again.

As a little man giving away many kilos, it’s actually inspiring.

Some nuffies deciding to interpret one aspect of the game a certain way (long after he honed his craft) doesn’t take away from his leadership ability.

Add to that, when the offense happened, he was coming across in cover after we didn’t properly defuse a kick on the edge, again, like Thurston would do in his career, showing up for his team.
