Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I'm keeping Seyfarth. Great Clubman and plenty of experience for outlay. He will easily get picked up if we are stupid enough to let him go.

I’m ok with him moving on if they genuinely need the space for getting a new player to the club ..Im not buying it’s only for Sam F in 2027 …

The thing with freeing up space …the player has got to be good enough that another club actually wants them ..

Warriors were after him before he re signed with us. With the new clubs on the horizon mid range players will be in big demand. Seyfarth’s output is probably on par with his wage, you can’t say that for a few in our squad. If we show him the door, he will get a few offers unlike Star

Of interest is how much if at all the current contract extensions rise with the cap increase to $16 million after the next rights deal.

We may (or may not) have plenty to play with at that point. At this stage just we need to hold onto a nucleus of players and have a clear replacement for Api.

I think Doueihi and Latu/Jock will end up being our halves and I expect the Luai money will be spent elsewhere. There is 2 million in Luai and Api contracts alone.
a lot of blokes have ratchets. they’re more commonplace nowadays than what they once were. means a lot of cap is taken up before it even increases.

I don’t even know if he is worth $250k to anyone … I suspect it’s a bit of a pipe dream that he is moving on ..should try and get him medically retired ,,.but you cant do that when you are picking him to play every week !
that medical retirement is a hard one
didnt burgess get medically retired then went back to play in ESL ? not sure

ot sure what we are going to do we need to try so ething to move it along

Gardiner at the Bears might have a soft spot for him, previously coached at the club, same as Webster at the Wahs.

havent read anything so apologies if doubling up

- we dont need to shed anything to sign samuela, deal on the table with latu and samuela are 4 year extensions

- starford has been told he is free to go next year, i said this would happen a few weeks back, tigers even considering tipping in, if we had more depth would push for him to move this year

- club does want to sign two experienced nrl
players next year
Perth might take To’a off our hands, providing he passes medical

seyfarth another club would take
Royce Hunt another club would take

dont think any club takes toa the way he is playing, Super League maybe but that would be a long shot and as he is contracted to tigers he doesnt have to go anywhere for 27 and 28

That's right, however the cap will go up 60%. You would hope the ratchets aren't in line with that.

I think the better players will get the big increases and the squad guys end up remaining about the same or slightly up.

Neither of us know, but it would be interesting. It simply creates an opportunity to open cap space if handled correctly.
