LIVE GAME Round 14 v the Panthers

Live Game Discussion
Ive got broncos fans messaging me about api in ghe first half catching markers offside and being obstructed but nothing being blown... mates who love watching me suffer as a tigers fan.

They haven’t given KPP the turnover when he knocked the ball free from Yeo, these pricks are useless, didn’t give brown 1 last week aswell..

Consistent stuff here
You should lobby the AOC to get whinging about refs added to the 2032 Brisbane Olympics. Guaranteed gold medal for you.

Why is depth not first grade standard? Why can't the club ever get the formula right. We aren't trying to create the wheel. This club is pathetic and injust don't understand how we can never get it right. Benji is proving to be alot of talk and no action.

Stevie Wonder could see in the offseason that having to rely on first drop spine depth like Hope and Mason was not going to cut it ….but that’s what they decided to go with ?

Yeah, my initial frustration with officiating (which is in general as a game, not just tigers) eased off the shitter we were...

Its so disheartening to spend the money i do on memberships and merch for the family to watch that sort of performance.. its been the same bs for years.

How does it improve next year? We will have the same depth basically, maybe less. So a few injuries and we are back to this bs again?
Yes unfortunately.
We have to develop a playing style that the second stringers can hold their own doing. The hot potato, keep it alive stuff is leading to too many errors and we don’t have the defensive class in that group to defend them.

I sat behind the posts and I have to defend Tavana here. He did a great job today considering. Yes a couple of time they stripped that side, but thats to be expected when the rest if the team is being run through like kindergarten kids. Turuva and Tavana did a great job on McLean and Jenkins.

For mine he was wholly responsible for his positioning when he basically gave Jenkins a free run outside him to score in the corner late in the match.

Hopefully he learns from it, though the effort from Skelton when he should have nailed To'o off the Cleary banana kick was probably worse. Particularly because it ended our going set for set with them for the opening dozen or so minutes of the second half.

The floodgates reopened as a result, conceding more than a point a minute from there onwards.

Spare me the hyperbole. Talk trash about the team all you like., but have some awareness about what’s happening below us. For us to be smokies. the Dragons would have to win at least another 6 or 7 games which isn’t happening.
Don’t forget they get to play us twice😁

You deserve 3 points and a free pie and chips for lasting that long. I don’t think I’ve ever had to sit through 60. Sadly 50 a number of times. There were times in the 90s I felt like leaving early.

Well I was ready to go a lot earlier than that, but just stayed stubborn until it tipped over the 56 barrier. I honestly thought it would be 80 part way through the first half.

Smokies for the spoon.

Benji needs to get some lessons from Foran.
What's annoying that other clubs when faced with the fact they are harbouring a dud coach they do something about it, this joint is just content with mediocrity, if I hear another player saying their playing for Benji I'll f....en vomit, any team that gets beaten by 70 points is not having a go

I am not sure you can single him out. According to the stats below, he is not THAT bad. This said, he is part of a bigger problem, at the WT, I feel. And when fans walk out, or boo, at the game, it is time for everyone that runs the club to take a long and hard look at what they are doing, coach included.

2026 Average Statistics Comparison
The table below compares Pole's per-game data against standard profiles of elite forwards (e.g., Payne Haas), mid-tier workhorses, and defensive-oriented specialists:

Metric (Per Game) [1, 2, 3, 4]Fonua Pole (Wests Tigers)Elite Prop (Marquee)Mid-Tier WorkhorseDefensive Specialist
Run Metres105 m150+ m110 m90 m
Tackles Made23.630.026.038.0
Tackle Efficiency90.6%92.5%89.0%95.0%
Tackle Breaks2.453.51.80.5
Offloads0.01.20.50.2

Is there an unforced error comparison section to go with those above? That table shows Pole as a guy who can break more tackles than a workhorse, but doesn't make enough tackles or metres to match them.

Glaringly, not only does the average defensive specialist provide more variety through offloads, Fonua gets a duck egg.
