You just proved where the problem lies ,- it's not the individuals. Luia earned the right to be a player that clubs targeted - he is 4 time premiership winner.
This is a team sport and this club consistently has failed at assembling squads that are capable of playing finals footy.

I think part of that is they don’t really know the type of players needed for that.
But Cleary, Bennett, Bellamy, McGuire do hence their success.

Players want to play for those clubs because of their success which makes those coaches recruiting and retention much easier. But even the great Bellamy was on the back of a 5 game losing streak when he didn't have the calibre of players to draw from that Melbourne was used to.
The only reason we have attracted players in recent times is because of Benji and at a monetary cost. As a club we still are suffering from years of failure and days like today are two steps backwards in terms of changing the loser perception associated with the club and questions Benji's ability to turn things around. And it gets no easier next week. Terrible day for the club and team.

Mate I'm not sure what you trying to say. The prank on the team mates happened,they thought they were going to PNG for a second....afterwards Jerome was saying he was sitting there thinking whats going on im in recruitment and i dont know anything about this. He was explaining what he was thinking during the prank when they convinced the team they were going to PNG

Reese Walsh or Cleary the refs would have seen it and penalised the escort penalty ..and even if it is some coincidence that somehow seems to happen to the Tigers and the titans a lot more often than some other teams then us posting it on here really does not make the team softer just by our posting about it

The thing is not getting those penalties changes the momentum of the game.

Hate to break it to you but the more the betting agencies are involved the more I’m convinced money has changed hands in games. There was two howlers in the Souths vs Manly game were souths got dudded. I cannot believe how the tries were awarded.

Yes Penrith are a great team, but they had early decisions go there way. We defended really well early for multiple sets until Alamoti crossed the stripe.

Not saying we didn’t play terrible. Pole, Murray and Geyer are horrendous. And if they represent first grade standard due to the expansion of the game then the comp is going to become horrendous. Not to mention PVL wants to get it to 20 teams. Ridiculous idea.

Geyer is a mere grabber and flopper with no aggressive passion - no DNA there. Replace him immediately with Ethan Roberts.
Turuva and Makasini should be moved out to the wings - Turuva is a great finishing winger, not a centre. Makasini is too young to cop a bashing in the centres week in week out. His confidence is down as a result.
Pole looks flashy but not that effective for the past couple of seasons.
I haven’t given up - we are still a good side but we need to win games until Doueihi gets back, because Luai is an absolute self-promoting fake. It’s embarrassing the difference in remuneration between Luai and Doueihi.
Doueihi and Latu in the halves for me.

Exactly.
Genuine star players make can easily make a few sub standard depth players around them look ok and play to an acceptable standard.
We don’t have any star players, the only thing that makes them believe they are star players is their pay packets.
 
Luai is not worth what he is being paid.
And to add to that , the amount he is being paid
is weighing heavily on him and it is reflecting on the
way he is and has been playing for us.
If he left tomorrow it would not bother me one bit.
But unfortunatelly we are stuck with him for next year.
Idealy what i would like to see the club/Benji do is bleed Javon Andrews
into first grade from now until Luai leaves , getting him ready for years to come..

It's up to Benji to shift Luai when Doueihi returns BUT I CAN'T SEE THAT HAPPENING. Too much BS love.
BUT next year it is a MUST. Time to build without Luai---Andrews, Latu the better options, can't be worse than what Luai is dishing up. And Luai is leaving.
Time in the off season for Benji to face reality and bight the bullet.
Luai can teach the hopefuls in Reggies.
 
Saying we are stuck with players like Jarome Luai is exactly what is wrong with this club. You need more than one Jarome Luai to build a winning team and that attitude is the very reason the likes of the Luke Keary's and Cooper Cronks with all their wisdom never had the courage to play at a bottom club but have plenty to say about the players who do - and people listen to that crap.
 
I'm surprised at all the recent condemnation of Luai, you could see he was stuffed halfway through last year, off the field great but his on field performances have been poor.

Im not writing him off just yet, he may come good, fricken hope so.

Don’t think Luai would ever play Reggie’s.
If he is excluded (!which I also doubt will ever happen) it will be for some trumped up injury.
 
Players are human. Doesn't matter how tight a group is, if there is a player that has abandoned ship, getting paid much more than anyone else, and is playing poorly, that has a really bad effect through the team. Whispers start, looks across the room start, little shakes of the head when the said player speaks up...players stop listening, stop taking him seriously because he isnt part of the team anymore, he is a stop gap getting paid way too much. Resentment is only natural. Luai has derailed our season much worse than Galvin ever did due to his standing at the club. He will forever live in the same class as Moses and Galvin for me.
