The loss of Doueihi has had a huge impact on our performance. Whether it's his size, speed or personality he brings great confidence to the team.

Yep and I’m not saying I told you so. I thought we’d improved, but prob not even to top 8. It’s just so competitive mid table.
Having a top line centre for the first time in over a decade helps but he’s out. In 2nd row S fainu went to the next level and he’s out. Twal went to the next level and he’s out.
Next men up are just not capable.

No but they have had a reasonable stable roster. Okay they have had Turbo out but that’s nothing new. Okay there is no excuse for total capitulation like yesterday but if you took the four best players and a couple of regular top graders out of any side your in for hard night at the office. Iam not making excuses, I just think at full strength we are boarder line top eight, take out 6 players and we a spoon side

We need better “next men up” for 2027 … we don’t have them though .., ideally we would have better starters and some of our current starters would be the next men up in 2027

Foran is in nappies re coaching compared to benji...benjis had years now foran 14 weeks
Weve been thru this season afer season month after month week after week...

Manly's squad craps all over ours. You can't polish a turd, as I have said countless times we need a fully fit side to be good, when we lose players we have no depth at all and are a bottom four team. Only Api and maybe KPP would get into that Manly side from our weekends team.

I know it was when we were rock bottom … but Wakeham didn’t show even the most basic skills here … Tommy Talau ( I know he isn’t at Manly now) left here and the following season looked a reasonable player …
I know people will make excuses … but something appears to be very wrong …
Theyve gone from jekyll to.hyde their first four weeks with seibold to with foran like we went from jekyll to hyde bulldogs last week then panthers ysty

I think its because these players are surrounded by a larger number of good players.
At the Tigers, most of our statrting team wouldn't make it into the top ten team squads.
Fullback, no
Wingers, no
Centre, no, May maybe
5/8, no
Halfback, maybe
Lock, yes
KPP, no (When I see other teams back rowers, our do not stack up)
Fainu, maybe
May, yes
Pole, maybe
Api, yes
Bench, no
I think we look at our team through rose coloured glasess. We still need two quality forwards and a couple of outside backs. 5/8 who knows, Latue is still a big question mark.
And thats even before talking about depth

No, we are not a big spending club, its clear as day that you need to purchase quality, not just with players in the midlle of their careers but juniors.
Look at the Roosters, all these young forwards are high quality, they get the good ones when they are young
Apart from S Fainu, who have we purchased as a high quality junior?

Can’t argue with you mate … we need another 4-5 better players from somewhere , but they don’t seem to be coming from inside or outside ..: I don’t think we have much cap left but that’s just a gut feeling based on what Richo said about not expecting any more new players … maybe they had to move on Royce to get Averillo
Correct they are both good honest players, but they are not 1 million dollar per season superstars that we think they are.

Well we are all now starting to see why it matters. They are not good enough to lift and carry the team on their own like many other genuine star players are and we do not have enough cap space to recruit and sign better depth players because of the high wages we are paying most of our top 17.
Agreeing to re-sign Luai for 2027 knowing he was departing in 2028 was a massive blunder and will make it very hard for us to have a successful season in 2027.
In all fairness you could have the best defensive coach on the planet, but if the players selected to play are not capable it is not going to help.

Luai already had the contract option for 2027 .. all he had to do was accept it …nothing the club could do to prevent that
We don’t know the money that May or Bula are on … somewhere around $900k … they are amongst the best players on the team … who do you want to replace them with ?
I assume we would have had to restructure his contract which was initially for 5 years, but an option in Luai’s favour after 2 years.
Since Luai decided to sign with PNG mid contract, wouldn’t that breach the initial 5 year contract, meaning we had to restructure a new one year contract for the 2027 season ?
I cannot imagine we were obligated to sign him for just the one season in 2027.
I bet no other NRL club including Perth Bears would have any interest in signing him for one season for 1.2 million
