It's time to take the fight back to HBG

It's their fault we're in this mess. It's their fault our pathways are a shambles. It's their fault the club is the most underfunded club in the competition.

We don't produce good players. On the occasion we do they leave so they can actually develop.

Our owners steadfastly refuse to invest in Wests Tigers, and even the Wests Magpies for that matter. They spend the bare minimum to keep the club going. That's it. The bare minimum is not sufficient anymore.

In SG ball and Harold Matts we have 2 sides, whereas most clubs have one. Yet still all other clubs spend more on their one club than we do on both of our combined.

We need to develop talent. We can't do that without money. Either we try to start matching the dogs and Penrith or the club will eventually fold. We've been going down the same path for way too long, there is no end in sight. We are still an amateur club run by amateurs.

We either need Wests Ashfield to wake up and start investing heavily in Wests Tigers, or to sell us to someone who will. That's the campaign.

We can't keep going on like this

If It is purely lack of funding that is causing the problem I will agree with you, but I would be checking that information before making these claims as the interview from earlier in the year that I have been referring to in the Rumoured Signings Thread does not mention any lack of willingness to invest in our young up and coming players.

You could always just check our funding against other clubs?

You'd work out pretty quick we are stone motherless last in funding.

Time to remove your head out of the sand.

I think the general plan and vision is correct, but you can have the best doctors in the world working in a crumbling hospital system too, but you need to fund it properly with equipment and support staff or people die.

The information has already been confirmed.

Money doesn't solve everything, but it would at least help us level the playing field

So where are we funding wise:

"At the other end of the financial ladder, Tigers are 17th ($13.4), Sharks are 16th ($14.4m) , Sea Eagles are 15th (14.7m), Warriors are 14th ($14.8m), and the Dragons are 13th ($15.3m)."

So yes we are last by about a Million Dollars. Yet two of those teams, Eagles and Sharks are in the top 8.

[Brisbane is first on $48.9 million] "With $24.3 million in overall commercial revenue, the Cowboys are a surprise second on the financial table, and the Panthers — after winning four premierships from 2021 to 2024 — are third with $24.3 million."
"Melbourne Storm are fourth ($23.7m), the Eels are fifth ($22.7m), Rabbitohs sixth ($22.7m), Dolphins are seventh ($21.5) and the Roosters are eighth (19.6m)."

Brisbane are particularly bad. I remember Lidia Thorpe doing a piece on how the NRL was drinking a stack of Aboriginal aid funding:
"NIAA gave $8.2 million to the AFL, $17.4 million to the Brisbane Broncos, $5 million to the (North Queensland) Cowboys, and $11 million to the NRL; totalling $41.6 million of Black money. Shame," she said.

Not an exact comparison of apples to apples, but you get the picture.

I am angry that money earmarked for aid is thrown at the Broncos. Sure good on the Broncos for being well run and sorting a lot of sponsorship. NO way they should be getting 17.4 Million in Indigenous aid.

Kinda funny that Lidia Thorpe is a victorian and perhaps should be angry that the government give NRL 3x as much as the AFL. (I suspect other funding goes to the AFL).

Summary:
Tigers are last by 1 Million Dollars.
There is a 34 Million dollar funding gap between us and Brisbane who have the most money.
However that narrows to about 11 Million when compared to the Cowboys.
Yes the NRL is rigged against us, is this news Wests Tigers fans?

$1 million extra might pay for some pathways staff at a minimum. That alone would probably help us. The figures above are just commercial revenue - the argument is about spending. Below is what the Broncos spent to 31 Dec 2025 (left column) and 2024 (right column) - their football operations bill (non-player expenses) is double our total revenue - we are just so far behind it's not funny.

The Broncos are the richest club in the league…

How do we compare with the Sharks who are always in the 8?

They have a million more than us...maybe that's all it takes Tom.

A million more of revenue …not necessarily spending on football operations …which is the issue right ?

and those revenue figures are out of date relating to year ending June 24 before Richo arrived ,…out revenue would be well up on those figures
