Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

And the results in all grades over recent history speaks exactly to that issue. If the club (Wests Tigers) are saying they need more coin to get the pathways sorted (straight from SM's mouth) and we are getting 0.26% of the profit from a non profit organisation on the football department that the consitution explicity says you are ther to support there is an issue with ownership. Take it one step further and note that it is the least investment from any club in the NRL and there is another clear indicator. Finally, when you look at other not for profits that are established along similar lines we are around $3.6-6M annually behind. The Sharks, for example, pour 20% of their much smaller profits, into the football department and the results are there for all to see. Our closest in similar structure - the Raiders - invested roughtly double what we did and they only support one level of juniors not two. We need to wake up and smell the roses!
I don’t know how the owners can justify the lack of funding to the Club. Operating on peanuts is helping no one

good to see the news about toa and blore come out

starford has interest from super league also, but the manly deal probably only option for nrl, parramatta did sniff but have gone cold

blore would prefer to come back to the tigers, money is the issue , st george happy to match current storm deal , tigers not willing to go that high

the narrative around samuela is silly we have the money, we are just looking to move on some contracts that have not worked out
Any word on Alverillo mate , seems long time coming about him signed up , also any others besides Blore we looking at , back rowers , props etc , and is the Hunt and Seyfarth word true they can move on

Investment in pathways has won Penrith 4 straight competitions.

They don’t spend any more than Parra or Canterbury…it’s not just a matter of money …probably more the coaching expertise and a bit of luck getting a solid crop of juniors coming through together and holding onto them …

They are the same type of people as Pascoe and Fedora guy. They are more interested in the connections and lifestyle that owning/leading the Wests Tigers provides them. They don't have pride in our performances, only pride in their ability to run in the social circles we enable for them. It's more about the status than anything.

Their priority is keeping their board roles, and if you look at it from this perspective, things make more sense.
Why should they be worried about keeping their board position. As debenture holders they are there for eternity.

How does their spending compare then? You need the funding to have the best coaching expertise & resources for their development.

It’s not luck when they’ve lost players every year after winning competitions and replace them with ease. That’s the elite Jnr system they’ve set up working

Regardless of money spent tou still need the people makjng the recruitment decisions to know what they are doing.
As an example the Bulldogs thought having two 5/8’s in Galvin and Burton would be a good halves combination and they thought Bailey Hayward was a better number 9 than Reed Mahoney even though he had only spent minimal time playing there.
I don’t know if it is Gus or Ciraldo, but someone is off with the fairies.
